September 23, 2004 Pierce Received American Citizenship at the US District Court House in Los Angeles
Pierce later commented on his decision to become a citizen: "What's at stake?
This is my first election as a U.S. citizen. I came to America 23 years ago and never looked back. My appreciation for the heart and soul of America comes from living here for 23 years, having 3 American born children and an American wife.
When I came here as a young man I felt embraced by a landscape of people and a community where any dream you had in your heart, could be made possible by hard work and determination. I feel especially privileged today because I have traveled extensively and seen the capacity of America to influence the world for the better.
As an Irishman, I am proud to become an American citizen, but these last four years have been the longest of any I have witnessed. This is not an ordinary time for the exercise of ordinary civic duties. This is a defining moment in history where we must be certain that our policies ensure a sustainable future. It saddens me deeply to see this country in a state of confusion and pain at the hands of a government that lies. Over the course of just four years, we have gone from being a nation loved and admired to one that has put the world at large against us.
Never before has the world been faced with such common global threats and never before has there been a power like the United States which can do so much to influence whether these threats become catastrophes or challenges to overcome.
Global warming, protecting the oceans, ending terrorism, eliminating nuclear weapons, sustaining the rain forests, and so many other vital issues need genuine leadership. Leadership that works with the world, not against it. Leadership that promotes peace, not war.
I know the weight of an American vote. There is no public duty as important and never has there been a time in history with as much at stake as now.
We the people must Vote for a safe and sustainable planet. Vote because we care about the future. Vote because we love life. Vote because we know that we have a common destiny or no destiny at all.
On December 18, 2002, in Washington D.C., Bush was quoted as saying "if this were a dictatorship, it would be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I'm the dictator." but about 140 years ago, a truly great president, Abraham Lincoln, was quoted as saying "to sin by silence when they should protect makes cowards of men."
Ladies and gentlemen, we must vote because our lives are at stake and we cannot and should not endure another four years of Bush and his junta.
Thank you."
There goes half of his audience! IDIOT. Did he FINALLY marry the mother of hs children?
We had them here as well, coming out of the woodwork to get on TV or in the newspapers to spout their ignorant (or at least mis-informed) opinion, especially when their career as an entertainer was quiet. But our man Honest John won, I almost heard them crying.
No publicity is bad publicity?? BZZTTT!!!!!
Pearce off fool.
Well, there's another idiot whose movies I won't have to waste my money on....
White cats with blue eyes are nearly always born deaf. It's a genetic thing.
I've always thought that the human genes for incredible good looks and for muteness should travel together, too.
STFU and act.....oh, wait a minute, you can't do that either!
LOL Mystery. We must have a psychic connection, just seconds apart!
someone in the arts college told him acting was an important profession and he believed it.
I was never really impressed with his looks, and now he shows how ignorant he is. Even more reason for me not to watch anything with him in it.
Just shut up and preen.
Sen Joe McCarthy wasn't too far off with this Hollywood bunch.
Anyone that comes over to this wonder land of freedom and choice and LEECHES off of it for 23YEARS should be sent back to his/her home country for the same amount of time before allowing someone the precious gift of citizenship in the great country. He's made his millions off of us and never cared enough to be a citizen. What a hypocrite!
He's a talented actor.
That's all.
Nothing else.
That was Bronson Pinchot.
Another Brit escaping the confiscatory taxes of Europe, more likely.

Huh?
"Over the course of just four years, we have gone from being a nation loved and admired to one that has put the world at large against us."
I hear this a lot here in Oz as well, everyone seems to hate America and in particular Bush...it pours from the media with monotonous regularity.
In reality it's the left that hates America and they seem to be pretty much the same in most countries,as do conservatives I expect.
Reading through his "comment" he actually comes across (on the surface) as anything but clueless. That's what's a little scary as way too many people don't seem to give enough serious thought to these things.
LOL....but it's true...
