When tabulating hundreds of millions of votes, no. When conducting exit polls with margins of error, it ain't much at all.
Apparently a judge has ruled that those vote do NOT count.
That's what I'm thinking. It's actually very bad news that it's this close.
Do we have a FULL list of what states have early voting?
Once agina a reminder that this election boils down to a very important decision. Do we want a President who is commited to victory in the War on Terror or do we want a president who is willing to put the United Nations above the US and is more interested in settling political grudges against his opponents than in acheving victory against Saddam, Al Queda and Osama in the War on Terror.
If Kerry wins this election, christians and conservatives will be spending the next four years with a foot on the back of their necks and trust me we will not like the results.
And a reminder for my fellow Oklahomans, a vote to give our Senate seat to Brad Carson will be the most regettable decision we have ever made if we make it. Carson has the endorsement of a left-wing organization, Moveon.org. His negative ads have poisoned things to the point where not many people are going to want to work with him even if he wins.
Carson will make a very poor representative for Oklahoma in the Senate if he wins. There's no way people will work with someone of this kind of attitude. Remember that when you go to the polls this Tuesday.
Onward to November 2nd. Regards.
I think it's 31 states that allow early voting this year but I don't know which ones.
That might not be so bad. When I saw Bush was leading by 5 I thought it was great, but then was thinking mostly GOP-leaning states vote early. Looks like enough of them do early voting that we can be at least cautiously encouraged at the results so far.
Tennessee, where I live, has early voting. I voted straight Republican last week and voted against the Knox County wheel tax.
I think that the story you were listening to was about voter registrations, not ballots. I could be wrong, but I think it's a Florida thing. Folks were supposed to both check a box and sign regarding their citizenship status. Some missed the box and their registrations are the ones under examination.
How interesting. The pundits all were predicting just the opposite!
Good point.
I'm inclined to agree with those who think this election will prove to be a Bush blow-out. We've seen previous elections ('88 comes to mind) where the media insisted the Dem was "neck-and-neck" with the Republican right up to the last minute, when the truth was, it was never that close.
But OTOH I'm all too aware this could be wishful thinking. SO I'm volunteering to do phone banks and door-to-door leafletting this week, and to drive shut-ins to the polls on Tuesday.
I agree, and those of you who did vote for W early, work on election day, either as poll watchers or on GOTV!
What I want to know is..
..WHAT IS THIS "EARLY VOTING" CR**?
I never heard of this before mentions this week. Since when can you vote any time other than proper Election Day? What is this, a UN banana-republic election?
(I don't care if they're all Repubs, it's still wrong.)
I'm w/you, Prion, I don't like it either.
I know we're going to hear "convenience". Did these idiots think it was convenient for people in 1800 to walk across fields and single lousy rutted roads to go to polls? We're so spoiled now we have to make it as "easy" as could ever be possible - driving a car on nice roads and standing in a nice heated covered building ON A SINGLE ESTABLISHED DAY isn't easy enough?
Taken from here.
I can tell you that in the past the 'early' or absentee vote broke heavily for the Republicans. We relied on it to get an idea of how Republican candidates were doing.
If the 'early' vote is this close, then we need to get out and work harder.
