The President should continue to stick to his strategy, it's clearly working for him.

We can't be telling the president how to run his campaign or some freepers, who are not acting like their normal admirable selves, will go round the bend.

Don't say I didn't warn you :-)

The president should say that the troops need total support if we are to win the war on terror.

Doug, I hate to disagree but, I gotta. I think President Bush's shellackin' of sKerry today about 'not having all the facts disqualifies sKerry to be a C-n-C.' was sufficient... FOR NOW.

PRESIDENT BUSH should hold WH press conference and slam Kerry over phony weapons dump story

I've been saying that all week. Bush has the golden microphone and never uses it to his advantage. He doesn't have to answer any questions. Just give the speech, and say goodbye. The press deserves nothing more.

I still think he should hit Kerry with some major "closers" -- this just being one of the issues. Kerry is spreading lies on a daily basis. Bush would not have to tell one lie, to cut Kerry up into fish bait.

Doug, I love you, man, but the President pretty much did this today.

Are you going with the White House Press Conference having some more weight than the campaign stop? If that's your angle, then I see what you are saying.

Course, there is always the thought that when your opponent is destroying himself, get out of his way.

Have they settled the issue of exactly how many weapons were taken - last on Fox - the amount was in dispute - and the final say on the issue isn't clear yet either -

Also - what does a "thread locked" mean - would really like to know why this happens here - thanks -

Official Suggests Iraq Hid Weapons in Syria October 29, 2003
The New York Times
Douglas Jehl
Head of spy agency points to signs of heavy travel before U.S. invasion
WASHINGTON - The director of a top American spy agency said Tuesday that he believed that material from Iraq's illicit weapons program was transported into Syria and perhaps other countries as part of an effort by Iraqis to disperse and destroy evidence immediately before the recent war.

The official, James Clapper Jr., a retired air force lieutenant general, said satellite images showing a heavy flow of traffic from Iraq into Syria just before the American invasion in March had led him to believe "unquestionably" that illicit weapons material was moved outside Iraq.

Russian Convoy Caught In Crossfire

MOSCOW, April 7, 2003
(CBS) Russian diplomats who came under fire while trying to flee Iraq entered Syria on Monday, after leaving behind an injured diplomat in an Iraqi-controlled hospital, the Foreign Ministry said.

3) washingtom Times runs similar Story, source #3
http://www.washingtontimes.com/national/20041027-101153-4822r.htm

GERTZ // THURSDAY // WASH TIMES: Russian special forces troops moved many of Saddam Hussein's weapons and related goods out of Iraq and into Syria in the weeks before the March 2003 U.S. military operation, The Washington Times has learned. John A. Shaw, the deputy undersecretary of defense for international technology security, said in an interview that he believes the Russian troops, working with Iraqi intelligence, “almost certainly” removed the high-explosive material that went missing from the Al-Qaqaa facility, south of Baghdad.

*************** Yeehah...... way to Go Bill gertz,

and a Thank You as well...

Not even the slimeball progressive liberals can spin this one....

Too much evidence....

2 out of 3 sources (2 of them liberal biased) concur... Russians moved the stuff....

I agree that Bush should make such a speech, but that he should wait until he's ready to display to the world the sponge containing OBL's DNA. He can then cover both topics in one neat, October Surprise package.

He should blanket the nation with a campaign commercial accusing John Kerry of once again walking on the backs of other brave soldiers for selfish political gain.

this must not come from the president. let him do his job the way he and rove think is best. however, a colin powell and/or rumsfeld press debriefing could be quite interesting and entertaining.

You know, I've said for weeks that The Prez should hold a press conference and diffuse all the Dims lies. One example would be the lie about there is going to be a military draft in a Bush second term.

Why doesn't The Prez use the Bully-Pulpit of The Presidency; there are benefits of incumbency. C'mon Mr. President, take the gloves off. (See my tagline.)

Good Idea but Bush has too strong a character to abuse his powers for campaigning. On the other hand it is a war issue. On the other hand the story is meaningless in "the real world',

on the other hand I think that at this point, the only one in America who believes in the story is Kerry.

I'm not sure that Bush should be the one to do it.

Certainly the rest of us should be getting the word out.
