The Choice by Dr. M. Sidney Wallace

On November 2nd almost everyone in America will make a choice as to who will be the President of the United States for the next 4 years. There has been millions of dollars spent on radio and television advertising. There has been outlandish and totally ridiculous claims from one candidate that he can do everything better. If elected he is promising to make the deaf hear, blind see, and the lame will walk again. He is promising everything to everyone. The other candidate is simply promising to get government out of your way and let you chose for yourself how to best live your life. While not pleasing everyone, has been doing a good job in the office for the past 4 years.

What does this election boil down to?

This nation was founded on “individual” initiative and personal responsibility. The leaders of the first colonies quickly realized that a communal or “communist” way of managing the first colony was a disaster. However when each family was allowed to individually keep the fruits of their labors they started to flourish and generated enormous surpluses.

Many prospered more than others because of wise personal decisions, experience, education, and just pure hard work. As individuals prospered the word went out around the world that the “New World” was a land of opportunity. Millions of "old world" individuals correctly decided that they could better determine what they needed than any government.

In the “old world” there arose groups of individuals that though they could do a better job at everything than the ones actually doing the job. In Germany they were called Nazis, in Russia they were called Communist, in France they are called Social Democrats. People with this socialized mindset are trying to get control of the United States today and they are called Democrats.

This “socialists” philosophy was narrowly defeated in the 2000 election. These liberals have learned how to manipulate the legal system and play on the emotions of weak-minded individuals that think the government has an obligation to provide them all of their needs from the cradle to the grave. They have managed to capture the education system of the nation by telling a gullible society that everyone was equal.

Well let me be the first to break the news to you. Everyone is not created equal. Some are created with limbs that do not work. Some are created darker than others. Some are smarter than others. Some hear better than others. Some are taller than others. However any man or woman with an average intelligence can still be a success in America. That is why so many want to come to this great land. It is the freedom of personal choice that makes or breaks an individual. Along with the freedom of personal choice comes responsibility for personal actions. The Socialist wants to remove personal responsibility for each individual’s actions. However, with the removal of responsibility goes the freedom of choice.

John F. Kerry is a socialist. He wants to be the head of a federal government that makes all your decisions in life for you. He promises unlimited health care, free education, better housing, more state supplied jobs, more equality if everything in your life. What he doesn’t tell you is that it will cost you and your grandchildren your freedom of choice. Gone will be the days when an individual decides for himself what he wants to do with his life.

George W. Bush realizes that government doesn’t always make the best decision for each individual. He wants each family decide what is best for them. In leaving the decision to the families he also wants to leave the money to act on their decision.

The choice in this election is really pretty simple.

If you believe that a way of life that has worked well and prospered for the past 225 years, then you will vote for George W. Bush to continue. If you want to see more socialism in American life then you will vote for John Kerry.

If you want someone else to make all decisions for you then vote for John Kerry. If you want to make your own decisions for yourself then vote for George Bush.

Simply put, whom you chose for president may be your first or last choice for the rest of your life...
