Heh... this is going to backlash against Kerry, but good... and against Moslems in the US.
George W. Bush will be reelected by a margin of at least ten per cent

The 101st Airborne secured the facility...took out the guys guarding the bunkers....and then sent out a call to come haul the stuff out of the bunkers... & the good Major & his trucks & trailers hauled it away to the disposal area.

$$$$$

Just think about this:

President Bush dropped the flag to start the march on Baghdad on March 19, 2003.

Before April 18, 2003, Major Pearson was in the neighborhood of Al Qaqa with at least nine 40ft tractor trailers, and an additional nine tandem trailers and drivers and crews to manage same.

And the willfully stupid reporters at the Pentagon briefing are totally unimpressed by this mind-boggling feat of military competence.

I always knew that the leftist media disliked the US military, but I am sorry to have witnessed such a blatant display of their contempt at today's briefing.

We really need to create a ratings system for media outlets and have it as a option on the main page.

That is an excellent suggestion. One of the most useful things I've gained from FR (thanks FR!) is an understanding of who's who in the media -- who writes from what perspective, whose opinions matter, who can be considered an authoritative source. It probably took me two or three years to get a handle on this. A ratings system would probably be a big help in speeding up this process for the new posters. A hundred-thousand media-savvy, unfoolable Freepers would be a force to be reckoned with.

No..They can be used to trigger a nuclear weapon...They are dual use weapons..We wanted them destroyed in the 90s..IAEA said no..they'd seal them and keep tabs on them..but then the inspectors left and did not go back until Saddam was threatened by war...Then they left again before the war.

I think he joined the Navy (Reserves?) so he wouldn't be drafted into the army and really be on the frontlines. He might actually have to fight then. He did try to get out of it so he could go to France to some kind of school but it didn't work. He chose the easiest way out at any rate. Then tried to make sure he got out before he got shot. Unfortunately, the doofus keeps shooting off his mouth and shooting himself in the foot!

"Wait a minute...I saw that interview yesterday and I did NOT hear him say anything inappropriate. Aren't his remarks being taken out of context?"

I did not see the interview, but yes, his comments are being reported in that vein, as if he was placing the blame on the troops on location.

Pentagon: US Forces Removed 250 Tons of Al Qaqaa Explosives

A Different Drummer
29 October 2004
By Nicholas Stix

In a noontime press conference today at the Pentagon, Pentagon spokesman Larry Dirita and Army Maj. Austin Pearson, an ammunition management officer who was at the Iraqi ammunition depot Al Qaqaa in spring, 2003 with the Army 3rd Infantry Division, cast doubt on the New York Times/CBS News report alleging that 377 tons of Iraqi munitions had disappeared from the site, after it had come under American control in April, 2003.

Maj. Austin estimated that his unit removed 200-250 tons of munitions, and Mr. Dirita emphasized that reports that 141 tons of RDX explosives were at the facility under IAEA seal may be mistaken, and that perhaps only three tons of RDX were at the facility.

An ABC News report by Martha Raddatz and Luis Martinez on Wednesday, first revealed the 138-ton discrepancy, which could reduce the amount of Al Qaqaa explosives in question to approximately 239 tons. The Raddatz/Martinez report also emphasized that the IAEA seals were not secure; weapons could have been removed through unsealed ventilation slats. Together with the 200-250 tons that Maj. Austin’s unit removed from Al Qaqaa, the new information could explain the disposition of virtually the entire weapons cache at Al Qaqaa.

Reporters at the news conference continued to ask Mr. Dirita and Maj. Pearson about explosives under IAEA seal, ignoring the updated reports by Dirita, Pearson, and ABC News, questions which continued to assume the truth of the most negative initial reports.

Mr. Dirita emphasized that at present, no one knows exactly what happened to the entire Al Qaqaa weapons cache.

Yeah, wouldn't you love to have Dan Rather spit out we give him an "F" rating!

I think it should be an natural evolution of the bloggers to have a sort of Nielsen rating system. One by the Free Republic and then in a realclearpolitics.com type approach of a general consensus.

But, actually, the fact that they are reporting that there are more questions than answers is not so bad because that is exactly what Bush has been saying, how can Kerry or any one classify this as a failure until all facts come in, and in the meantime, demean the actions of the military? The fact that we still don't know only PROVES that a real president doesn't jump to conclusions and start making accusations based on a newspaper article, which is what Kerry just Did(sic).

There is another answer to why the President has been quiet. Perhaps he has a respect for classified information that Kerry (bunker buster nuclear bombs outburst in Debate) has? Okay, so we all know the President has more respect for classied information. But here's another one - The Russian involvement in the trucks pulling away from Al Qaqaa/Dogwood area.

Pootie Poot is an important ally for the President but you can't tell me that he would betray classified information just to strike down Kerry's betrayal of American forces and actions.

I heard during the Pentagon briefing this Morning that they are still reviewing the Major's pictures, to declassify them, for release. What about this operation might need to be "declassified"? Hmmmmmm? Other weapons that were there - weapons of a certain WMD type?

That means that this is a President who honors the oath he said to "protect and defend the United States of America" and is an oath that we cannot allow John Kerry to mock on Inauguration Day. God protect us all.

Pres. Bush will not commit treason by revealing classified information, if it makes Kerry look like the idiot and the traitor that he is. This President is filled with a love of America and INTEGRITY.

The President is right today in NH to say that Kerry is doing the same things he did years ago - Oh - sorry. That was Rush. But it's true. Kerry is doing exactly what he did when he came back from VietNam. Betraying his Country, and giving comfort and aid to the enemy. He is unfortunately, hideously, consistent.

Hearing the press ask the questions they did (all attempts to defend the NY Slimes and sKerry) it's clear that the MSM can't ask an honest question if their lives depended on it. It's up to us to tell our friends and neighbors what Major Auston Pearson (sp?) said today. WE must get the word out.

Will kerry call a U.S. Soldier a liar? I once had a teacher who said "The only stupid question is the one you already know the answer to." Will kerry call a U.S. Soldier a liar? Now that's a stupid question. ; )
