The balloon was emblazoned with a "Go Kerry" sign, an apparent reference to presidential hopeful Sen. John Kerry. It was unclear if it had any connection to the campaign.
The men brought down the balloon at about 2:30 p.m. in the park's North Meadow.
Police said the men had permission to fly the balloon, but not to land it the park. Charges were pending.
The police have them in custody because they don't know what to do with them.
The only reason they were arrested is because they didn't have permission to land in the park.
Did they have a propane burner, or Al Sharpton in the gondola?
Propane is the usual fuel for these balloons.
We are all laughing because our friends are in jail in NYC at the moment. LOL!
Justice...finally two Democrats who break the law, get their just due.
That was supposed to be a hot air joke.
Actually, the 2nd guy in custody is a Republican who will be voting for Bush. He was the chase crew.
Oops!
I got it!
Gotta be a propane burner ... if Fat Albert was on board, they'd never get off the ground.
Go Kerry? Hey I'm all for it...to France, or Germany.
I'm with ya'. I feel sorry for his chase crew. He works for us as our pilot on the space shuttle.
But, I'm still laughing at them!

NEW YORK
Two men were taken into custody Friday after illegally landing a hot-air balloon emblazoned with the names Kerry and Edwards in Central Park, police said.
Police said the men had permission to fly the balloon, but not to land it the park.
It was not immediately clear if they had any connection to the campaign.
Thomas Robins, 44, and Ronald DiGiovanni, 51, brought down the balloon in the middle of the afternoon, police said. The men said they were in distress and had been cleared to land by air traffic controllers - a claim police disputed.
I also found out my pilot is NOT in custody.
What did your friends do??
NO!!
Did the GPS go bad or something??
No. They were trying to fly to Boston.
It started to rain. Rain on top of a balloon can be deadly if too much accumulates.
See my first thread... Link at the top.
keep them in the slammer until wednesday.
LOL!
