Oct 29, 2004 6:38 pm US/Eastern PHILADELPHIA (KYW) An area lawmaker has threatened to file a lawsuit that could affect who gets to vote.
CBS 3s Valerie Levesque reports Congressman Curt Weldon will file a federal lawsuit in regards to allegations of voter fraud at the Curran-Fromhold Prison in Northeast Philadelphia.
He claims that college students have been handing out and collecting absentee ballots at the facility for weeks.
In Pennsylvania, state law makes it illegal for a third party to distribute or collect the ballots. Weldon apparently caught the students with a ballot in their hands when they were leaving the prison.
Levesque reports that only CBS 3 was there as the Congressman confronted the students and the Commissioner of the prison.
Weldon told Levesque that he believes the move was politically motivated in order to sway votes.
An investigation into the alleged incident is underway.
Isn't this the Congressman who forced Wendell to honor the military ballots? Didn't he threaten to withhold security funds for PA unless military ballots were honored? He's got some brass--I hope we hear more of him.
Gee. What a surprise.
Democrats doing something illegal.
(Do felons have the right to vote in PA?)
This Demo fraud can only be charging up the GOP base to get out there!
Here's a thread about it: Rendell Flip Came After Exposure of Jailhouse Vote Drive
BTTT! Weldon was also on Dom Giordano tonight talking about this. One of the lawyers handling this is a former US District Attorney.
I was listening to Dom tonight, too. That's where I found out about it. I got home too late to catch the evening news report, so I looked for the story on KYW's website.
Aren't you the Freeper who performed a statistical analysis on the spoiled ballots in Florida in 2000? If so, where can I get a PDF copy of your report?
Paleo
It is in FR archives and well worth looking into. Absolutely dead on!
