I'll take Wednesday, first thing.

2 1st degrees, death penalty.

The fact that Lee and Jackie got up there and showed where their son got his, er, sense of character from, they'll have no mercy.

Then Sharon will sue them all in civil court for aiding and abetting!

Escalon To Host Bench Dedication For Laci Peterson

Escalon's Main Street Park will soon be home to a special bench, dedicated in memory of Laci Peterson.

Jury Begins Deliberations In The Peterson Case

REDWOOD CITY -- Jurors began deliberating the fate of Scott Peterson Wednesday, more than five months after testimony began in his double murder trial.

Judge Alfred A. Delucchi sent the panelists off with lunch into the jury room after about 45 minutes of instructions.

Jurors must decide whether Peterson killed his pregnant wife and dumped her body in San Francisco Bay, or was merely a straying husband who was framed. He plans to keep the jury sequestered until it reaches a verdict.

"You can't base a reasonable doubt on an unreasonable interpretation of the evidence," prosecutor Rick Distaso told jurors in a brief rebuttal Wednesday to the defense closing argument. "It's just not reasonable that anyone put that body in the bay to frame him. If it's not reasonable, you must reject it."......

SCOTT IN JURY HANDS

November 4, 2004 -- REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — Scott Peterson's prosecution ridiculed the defense yesterday for suggesting Laci was not slain by her philandering husband, but by some covert pack of marauding vagrants who rove the leafy California suburb.

"You've got to feel bad for the homeless people in this case," prosecutor Rick Distaso quipped. ........

Arguments conclude, case goes to jury

Updated: 2:00 p.m. PST -The sequestered jurors in Scott Peterson's murder trial were to begin deciding his fate today as soon as they finish lunch, the judge said this morning after both sides presented closing arguments.

"You can discuss it till you're blue in the face, but not when you're not in the jury room, not with the alternates and not with any staff at that hotel," Judge Alfred Delucchi told them.

Outside the courtroom, Peterson's sister, Susan Caudillo, said: "We're very confident .......

Deliberation Begins in Peterson Trial

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. - Jurors in the Scott Peterson (news - web sites) murder case began deliberating whether the former fertilizer salesman killed his pregnant wife, and will remain sequestered until they can decide between a conviction based on largely circumstantial evidence or an acquittal that accepts the defense's theory of a possible frame-up. .......

I'm terrible at predictions but here goes:

Verdit (if there is one) on Friday. If deliberations go beyond Friday I think it will hang.

Verdict will be 1st degree. Sentence LWOP.

The second degree possibility is interesting. I think there is plenty of premeditation evidence but others may not agree.

I agree Friday afternoon the verdict will be reached. They may make us wait till Monday to announce it.

IF the verdict comes in this quickly, then he is guilty but they will go for life inprisonment, since most of the evidence is circumstancial.

IF deliberations go over two weeks, the jury is hung.

Just my 2 cents and that's about all it's worth!!!

Scott sure had that SMUG I'M GONNA GET OFF look wiped off his face during the rebuttal, didn't he? It's the first time I've ever seen a pic of him looking worried, concerned. THIS is the look he SHOULD have had when his beautiful, soon to give birth, wife went missing.
