Post info and links about Minnesota here.
This is the sleeper of this campaign. I'm predicting that Minnesota will be the West Virginia of 2004 -- the state that Bush wins against all conventional wisdom.
I voted in St. Louis Park around 9am...5 minute wait, no MoveOn jackasses anywhere to be found.
I have always heard that Minnesota is a left leaning Rat state but everyone I have met from there seem to all be right leaning. Of course they all live here in Texas now, which may be why it is still left leaning.
Voted this morning in Eagan at 7. Lotsa people. Some retards (other voters) with kerry buttons that didn't get thrown out bugged me.
Parking lot was packed. No moveon retards to be found either
Voted in Urban Minneapolis at 7:00am...about 500 people voting evenly split for the most part. The Move on Bunch was escorted to a location 100 feet away from the polling Site. Also we had a pleasant experience in line...Everyone was quite cordial except for one Deaniac. Rather funny as his fellow democrats told him to "Pipe Down. You're making us look like Idiots"
No sign of any real fraud although I witnessed threee people being turned away because of bad documentation...
Spring Street Polling Area
By Minnesota state law, if it is within one half of one percent (50.25 to 49.75 or less), there will be a recount conducted by the Secretary of State's office.
The bigger the suburbs get, the more conservative voters you will get. Albert squeaked by in 2000, and now we have a GOP Governor and a majority in the House. The MN Senate is next. The proverbial worm has turned!!
The MoveOn Punks were in Little Canada, MN, on the school grounds and clearly against election law.
Saw the same here in a 3rd tier suburb.
From your lips to God's ears...
As I mentioned elsewhere. Move ON was in the polling place, but well over 100 feet from where the voting was taking place.
Large numbers of volunteers and judges in the place. I would say they had double the usual election day volunteers. The had one youngers kid 18 or so just handing out I voted stickers.
Participation looks pretty strong at my polling place. Was in Byerly's afterwards and a majority had I voted stickers on.
LOL! What was he doing?
It was great here downtown...The cops had three of them by the arms moving them away...
There is an undercurrent of rural social conservatism in Minnesota that you don't see in the bastions of liberalism in the Northeast and on the West Coast.
It was a real pleasure voting here in the Brainerd area. This has been a real W stronghold throughout the campaign. Signs running 10-1 for W or even more. Good crowd in my little township at 7 am....I know most are voting Bush!
Minnesota's going RED!...BRING IT ON OSAMA! YOU FILTHY BASTARD!
Voted in Blaine and the only semblance of politics were 2 Bush/Cheney bumper stickers in the parking lot. No wait at all, I walked right through.
4 were cut out with just the outline remaining, 2 were spray painted with black X's. All of the Kerry signs I saw were intact.
I lived in Minnesota during the late 60's and early 70's. I share your view of the nature of liberalism in Minnesota.
