Bush Ready to Celebrate His Victory (Will Not Base Our Decision on a Concession)

President Bush will declare his re-election triumph, aides said this morning.

"We will not base our decision on a concession," said adviser Dan Bartlett.

The Associated Press reported, "After winning Nevada, another presidential aide said Bush would soon declare victory."

Do pretend vice president John Edwards and pretend president John Kerry know about this?

Must we dig out our prized official Sore Loserman Crying Towel?

Bush Prepares to Declare Re-Election Win

After winning Nevada and pulling within 16 electoral votes of the 270 required for a second term, Bush was laying claim to Ohio's 20 over Kerry's objections. "We will not base our decision on a concession," said Bush adviser Dan Bartlett.

It appears no one is ready to take the plunge. The news organizations that have called Ohio have not called Nevada, while the ones that have held out on Ohio have all projected Bush the winner in Nevada.

Besides a concession, Bush should not wait either for a MSM projecting over the 270 mark, in order to trigger his speech.

I second B's question - I've been up almost 26 hours straight and I want to go to bed too. But I won't sleep until I see the Pres. and Lady Laura.

W needs to get out there and say something, or the news in the morning will lead with bambi's non-concession concession speech.

"Best for the Country" isn't exactly the gold standard when it comes to Hanoi's man on the street.

where is he? what is he waiting for? I think they are nervous about IOWA and NM being stolen, that would leave just NV (I know it has been called) to get him over 270.
