Shameless Vanity: Who is 'on deck' for 2008?
11-3-04 | myself

Conservatives need to start looking forward just 4 years and start thinking about who will run against Hillary in 2008.

Allowing that creature to win will undermine this nation worse than the 8 years she had puppeteering through Bubba.

Suggestions for a candidate/team?

Just my speculation, I don't have any hard info.

Cheney has health issues, I am sure even if he his healthy, he would want some years in retirement, and might want to step down to enjoy the later years in his life.

Combine this with the potential of helping the party by giving them a NAME as VP for a couple years, I think it is possible.

Cheney cannot win the Presidency and do you really think he wants to be VP for 12 more years? I just don't see it.

I am saying that Rudy has a LOT more street cred than Hillary.

Now. Four years is an eternity in politics. Giuliani has to do something between now and then to keep in the public eye. Former mayor ain't gonna do it. He needs another elective office or cabinet post.

I think the Left will try and run a Gen. Clark/Hillary ticket.

Our ticket must counter with strong on both security and values.

Gov. Romney is intriguing because we need some presence in the northeast.

Feinstein is a hypocrite since she admits to owning high-powered rifles and brandishes them in public with her finger on the trigger (Egad!)

The Congress is bulletproof, pun intended. We gun-owners need not worry this time around.

I have already predicted that he will be in the Cabinet next year.

There are those of us who don't feel confortable writing off an entire section of the county as hopeless.

Don't forget Texas was until recently reliably Democrat and California used to vote GOP. If we want to win we have to get ahead of the curve.

He surely ain't no RINO. He's a very good friend of W.

Rated 0% by NARAL, indicating a pro-life voting record

I was under the impression he was getting up there in years.

Cheney? He's 63. Another 12 years might be a stretch, but not unheard-of. Probably he's good for another 8; we can check again in 4.

Looks good on paper - but facts are facts and hopeless is hopeless!

What did we learn from Gore in 2000?

Never nominate someone who can't win their home state.

Of the 50 states Bush did the worst in Massachusetts both times.

I really want to support Rudi. I wish he wasn't pro-abortion.

I've thought about this and I've decided to support Rudi because I think he is the best man for the War On Terror. I think this is the PRIME ISSUE. Everything else is secondary. RUDI.

I think Rudy may be the one. I have some disagreements with him, but I think he is a bright leader and one that could surely grab votes.

If you think the War On Terror is the MAIN ISSUE then Rudi is definitely the one. This is a war for the survial of civilization. Everything else is secondary. RUDI.

Yeah, right, like any pro-gunner worse his or her salt would believe that a liberal NYC Republican is really pro-gun.

Fair enough, but I'm sure he knows enough to toe the line on guns if he wants to get elected. GWB is no gun nut either.

You're all missing the obvious. We need someone who can help us in the upper midwest. Yet someone who will be exceptable to the south. Also a running mate who can carry the west coast.

My dream ticket would be Frist and Santorum -- AND you get Pennsylvania and the south (Oh, I forgot, we have the South).

I admitted in my post that Moore could not win because he would be called "intolerant" but I can dream.
