Are medals no longer good enough proof of valour?

Must we now ask the opinion of talk radio hosts and the opinon of websites before we respect a man's medals?

I will respect Kerry for any medals he has until my government tells me otherwise.

He also said that his "band of brothers" were brave enough to tell the truth 35 years ago. What was that all about?

Yes! Keep after him until he's completely exposed and discredited everywhere.

A traitor should not get off the hook just because he lost an election.

Well, when a person's current words and actions show he has little or no respect for truth, our soldiers, or our Constitution,THEN I harbor doubts about his past.
Kerry's refusal to allow scrutiny of his records whilst seeking the office of President is indicative of a desire to hide something.

This fatuous traitor came within a hair's breadth of assuming the presidency

This is what I simply could not accept. I was wondering if we had ever had a President who had done such horrible things against our country. Lincoln doesn't count; he risked a lot but it was a moral decision either way so it is too disputable. Nothing is disputable about Kerry's earlier behavior.

All he has to do is release his military records and we will know. Until he does, I'll believe the true heroes, the men that were there with him. He wrote up his own battle reports and put himself in for medals that were originally refused. He shopped around for someone to sign off on the medals.

He has various versions of the same incidents in his own book and his authorized biography. He was not in Cambodia. He lied to the Senate and to the American people. He lied about being in Cambodia. He called our soldiers war criminals.

All he has to do is release his records.

Are medals no longer good enough proof of valour?

I would suppose this would depend on how they were obtained.

In my opinion, to focus too much attention what his medals ought to mean is to ignore the larger picture of who John Kerry is. I want to respect his medals, too, but it is impossible for me to ignore the character revealed in the testimony of his own words and deeds, things merely reported by talk show hosts and websites, not created by them. If the source of the truth happens to be a talk show host or a website, is it any less the truth?

I'd be willing to say that most medals are true and deserved proof of valour and should be respected. It's even possible, though not likely, that Kerry's medals are proof of valour AT THAT TIME. However, medals alone are not proof of a life of integrity, courage, and honor...and when a man who proves in so many ways that he lacks these virtues points to his medals as "proof" of his character, he dishonors those medals. A man can taint his past laurels by the life he leads afterwards. And if it's true that he received these honors deceptively, then they cannot even be called laurels, however deserving of respect they ordinarily would be.

We need his putrid body out of the US Senate. If not taken out, he can and will continue to harm our military. We owe it to all our people in uniform to have anyone with any say-so over their well-being to be an American patriot.
What do you suggest, wait until he uses his influence as a senator to cause harm to our troops, then go after him? I don't understand you.

I don't understand. Are you saying that there is nothing anyone that is not from Mass. can do? What this POS does affects all Americans.

I disagree. Americans have a responsibility to our troops in service now and those of the future to not have to be the victims of this POS and his liberal friends and supporters.

Don't they hang traitors?

until dead, I believe. But under UCMJ it might be a firing squad.

True. His senate seat is not something he devotes a lot of time to. However, now that he has been rejected, he has lots of time to be a strong influence on our military.

How much more flesh do we need?

Well considering the guy tried to take down our country not once but twice I'd say about 200 pounds of flesh...

You are absolutely right about the danger Kerry still presents. He is a U.S. Senator and he will continue to use that position to undermine the Pres. He will soon be the senior Senator from Mass. and we all know that is a lifetime appointment. He will continue where Kennedy leaves off. Kerry is unacceptable in any public office.

The Swiftees deserve the unending gratitude of the nation for torpedoing Kerry's presidential run. I think it best to leave him alone now and turn to other targets that are now much more dangerous. Why leave Kerry alone when he obviously deserves to get hounded all the way to Hell? Because he would only be replaced by another Massachusetts liberal who might show up more in the Senate and have more of an effect than Kerry has. Let him keep the position and the often wasted or un-used vote and let the Republican majority get on with putting some good judges on the bench. The target needing the most attention for the next 4 years will be Hillary Clinton. She has alot of Black Panther dirt that needs to be dragged out of the crypt and displayed in public. I'm sure there's alot more as well.....

I say we expose his record to the light of day -- and make this entire nation understand just how close it came to electing a depraved moron to the White House.

I agree. I felt the same way when I realized that nearly everyone in America who truly understood what happened on 9/11 got on their knees at least once to thank God that Al Gore lost in 2000.

"I think the Swifties' open letter is enough. This should stop now. The horse is dead."

The horse is not dead, it is still a Senator; fair game.

Remember, John Kerry is still a US Senator, and may still run again for that office. The people of Massachusetts would best be informed of truthful information before they re-elect this man.

Interestingly, Judicial Watch (mentioned on the Swift Vets web site as their possible future partner) is today nothing more than a money-skimming operation for Larry Klayman. Make of that what you want.

JW is radioactive and does nothing but sully their fine reputation. The SBVs and the company they keep will become that much more of an issue rather than the facts they expose.
