"More people have been killed riding in a car with Ted Kennedy than have been killed by global warming."

Anyone with a simple knowledge in chemistry knows that freons react with O3(ozone) and break it down into 02. Also known as global warming.

Uh, no, that's "destruction of the ozone layer".

You need to keep your junk science hoaxs straight.

I love how "global warming" has brought about cooler summers here in Texas for about the last five years.

If that's global warming, bring it on!

To answer your question, I believe the temperature of the earth rises and falls naturally. There is no science to prove that mankind has caused any of this. Kind of like there's no science to prove that embryonic stem cell research will result in the cure for paralysis, cancer, diabetes, etc. Makes for a good story, though.

I think that we should set it at about 75* and leave it right there.

Global Warming is occurring. Mankinds contribution to CO2 in the atmosphere is 5% of total C02 generation. Figure out how to put a muffler on Mount St Helens and other geologic CO2 sources and maybe it can be ameliorated.

But don't you, don't you put your hands on my Blue Suede Shoes!!! (or SUV)

What do freepers think?

Ok, I'll let you into a secret... we contol it like we do everything else...

Who controls the British crown?

Who keeps the metric system down?

We do! We do!

Who leaves Atlantis off the maps?

Who keeps the martians under wraps?

We do! We do!

Who holds back the electric car?

Who makes Steve Guttenberg a star?

We do! We do!

Who robs the cave fish of their sight?

Who rigs every Oscars night?

We do! We do!

I was just wondering how many freepers believe in global warming? What do you think about it?

I believe in global warming - and I think lightning discharges and the smoke from smoldering trolls causes it.

I don't believe the science of it, (junk mostly). But I don't see a problem with 'gw' as it would reduce our need for foreign oil and I could get warm. I hate to be cold.

"James Burke's "Connections." It'll give you a great perspective."

One of my all time favorite series.. I would love to get it on CD.

I love it when the Enviros use terms like "warmest in x years". So, what made it warm x years ago?
Why was Greenland called Greenland?

What ever happened with the acid rain? Do you remember the acid rain, which by the year 2000 will wipe out all our forests?

By the way, how much was the earth supposed to have heated up by now? According to some other study by some scientist working out of his mom and dads garage. We were supposed to enter an ice age just a few years before the global warming theory was put out. That was still being put out as scientific "fact" in the late 70s and even briefed to our government that way.

I must excuse myself for I'm a bad person for not hopping on every trendy little topic. By the way, how many nations are still going by the Kyoto protocol?

Made up political issues where some politician has the “cure” for the problem (which is nothing but a perception) he helped create are not paramount to me.
