The point isn't that Republicans are Christians, but that Christians are Republican.

I'll see if I can find the survey showing that 90% of church-attending (white) Christians vote Republican. Ann Coulter cited it in a column, but I'm not sure where to find it on line. If the Dems become practicing Christians, either their personal politics, or the platform of their party, will necessarily change.

I think lots of Americans like me resent the Dems' invocation of religion.

In the last month or two of the campaign, John Kerry liked to say(when it was opportune), "Faith without works is dead." For the Dems, there are no works. As far as I'm concerned, anyone who votes Democrat today is faith-dead and brain-dead.

As a Christian, I believe it is impossible to rationalize voting for a party who carries the banner for abortion on demand and gay marriage.

The Democrat party cannot become something it's not. If we could keep them out of black churches, the party would dissolve altogether.

I hear Wal-Mart is having a special on religion starting on the day after Thanksgiving. I recommend that all liberals get there early before it's all gone.

Most Democrats just don't get it. Some talk about "the religion thing", or "the values thing" as if these are like a job you take or a school you attend. Real religion becomes part of what you are. The Democrat party can't "get" religion any more than they can "get" patriotism. They don't seem to truly believe in anything! Like so many other deeply held conservative values, to the liberal Democrat these are just hats you wear depending on the occasion.

Get religion? Liberal democrats just don't and won't.

P.S. In a related topic: Does anyone think Alan Alda will be able to pull off a believable Republican president on The West Wing?

They seem to miss the point when suggesting they try a “faith-based appeal” when it includes a pro-abortion, pro-homosexual, etc. baseline message. They just don’t get it. They would have to alienate their various radical constituencies. Let’s help them drive their left-wingers to the Green Party. I may join the Green Party for a few years and work to help them grow. Divide and conquer.

You read my thoughts. Where do they think they are going to "get" religion? Uh.

Are these the people who fight prayer in schools at every turn?

"We have lost the ability to connect with people's value systems and we're going to have to work to get that back."

Words from the same Dodd who back the Communists in South American at every turn. What a scumbag.

I'm extremely inclined to doubt that figure. If 90% of white, church going people voted Republican as you say, I don't think there would be but a handful of Democrats in the house, no senators, and the president would have won the election with numbers in the high 60's to low 70's.

They already have religion, what they need is the Lord and his Commandments that they want taken out of our society.
