Time for FR to gather together and focusing on winning some more seats.

2006 RIPE TARGETS:

New Mexico's Jeff Bingaman West Virginia's Robert KKK Bird North Dakota's Kent Conrad. Minnesota's Mark Dayton (Major Kook). Wisconsin's Herb Kohl Nebraska'a Ben Nelson Florida's Bill Nelson

These are 7 senators in Red or Swing states that we should focus on defeating.

All of the GOP senators look very safe. Lincoln Chaffee might defect to the Dem party, but he was also a huge RINO. Expect a challenge against Santorum, but he should be able to hold off. Everyone else is very solid in Red States.

Let's focus on 2006 and aim for 60!!! yes 60 SENATORS!!

If we can take out Kennedy in 2006, or even run a strong enough challenge to drain massive resources from other Democrat candidates, it would be sweet bliss.

Good list. Suggest a further sort - red state -- blue state.

Changing the Senate is better than losing a blue state election. Spend less, get more.

You think Santorum will win in PA?

Linc Chafee is an idiot. This will be a huge battle in RI. Look for Mayor Steve Laffey (a true conservative) to take him on in the primary or general election if need be.

Laffey could beat him with one hand tied behind his back. Republican and Democratic voters love him. He is doing a great job in Cranston. He has a lot of guts. He has been pushed around, threatend by union thugs, faced the teachers unions etc. He doesn't back down. Go Laffey

Mark "Evacuating" Dayton, Lincoln Log Chaffee, and Jumpin' Jim Jeffords all need to be made High Value Targets.

These wastes of space need to go.

Not many realize that Chafee wrote-in Bush the Elder for President this year. He seemed quite proud of this fact. In truth he is an embarrassment to all of us here in Rhode Island.

I don't think Kennedy will retire and I don't think MA will throw him out of office. If they do I will be very happy but I don't think they will.

HHS Secretary and former WI governor Tommy Thompson should consider running.

The GOP should try and get former ND governor, -- Schaefer is it??? -- to run against Conrad. Though for some reason he didn't run this year. Is he not popular? Or they could try and get their current gov who just won an overwhelming reelection victory to cut short a second term and run, though of course it'd only be cut short if he won. Conrad is almost as insufferable as Daschle.

Nelson of Nebraska votes conservative for a Democrat, and crossed over to vote with the GOP on several key issues. So he may be tough to beat as he has some semblance of a record where he actually votes conservative.

New Mexico: What about that former GOP gov who favored some sort of limited drug legalization. I think his name is Johnson. I wonder if he left as a popular governor?

Florida: Obviously Jeb could win it, but he has said he will return to private life after the conclusion of his second term in 06.

As for GOP seats, I don't really know who might be vulnerable. I expect the Dem gov of Virginia, Mark Warner, will challenge Sen George Allen. I've read that Warner is popular, but he has made some liberal moves that Allen could use against him.
