Newsweek Assistant Managing Editor Evan Thomas in an exclusive report in Newsweek's special election issue. "He said with a sigh to one top staffer, 'I can't believe I'm losing to this idiot.'"
Honestly, I am stunned. I knew Kerry was a phony, but to say that.....it shows his SOUL...and it is black.
Honestly, the jerk in me wants to run this quote as a banner headline in the college paper....people need to know he said this. But, I of course won't do that....would be rather biased. But, my word.
He lost as much due to his character as to anything else, and that's why what the Swiftboat vets said mattered.
"I can't believe I'm RUNNING against this idiot!"
Kerry suffers from the same problem that many of the liberal elite snobbery do. People like Effing and Al Gore develop an overblown opinion of their abilities to engage in social and intellectual domains. Their intellect is generally on par with that of a typical college graduate (both Gore and Kerry were C students) yet they have convinced themselves that they are intellectually superior humans.
As a result, people like Kerry and Gore often reach erroneous conclusions about complex situations and as a result of their miscalculations make stupid mistakes and missteps.
Their real problem is that they lack that metacognative skills to realize it.
When I read "I can't believe I'm losing to this idiot", I was reminded of the Saturday Night Live skit with Dukakis and George H.W. Bush at a debate. Bush speaks in a stiff manner, and Dukakis (played by Jon Lovitz) looks at the camera and deadpans "Can you believe I'm losing to this guy?"
A question for Senator Kerry: If you loose an election to a man you call an idiot...a man who you said repeatedly can't do more than one thing at once... THEN SIR, WHAT DOES THAT MAKE YOU????"
Kind of tells us all what sort of President, never mind Commander In Chief, he would've made, doesn't it? Can you say micro-managing elitist bastard?
Yeah. I remember sighing those exact same words, throughout two entire terms of the dark years of shame, unreason and terror the Clinton administration. :)
But .. ever the classy gentlemen, our President had nothing but kind words for the Senator during the President's victory speech on Wednesday.
My comment: Senator Kerry - THE IDIOT
