Distraught over the re-election of President George W. Bush, a Georgia man traveled to New York City, went to Ground Zero and killed himself with a shotgun blast, police said yesterday.

The suicide victim, Andrew Veal, 25, was discovered just before 8 a.m. yesterday when a worker for the Millennium Hotel looking at Ground Zero from an upper floor saw a man lying atop the concrete structure through which the 1 and 9 subway lines run.

The worker, thinking the man was sleeping, alerted colleagues and the Port Authority police were notified.

But when they got to Veal's body, they realized he had killed himself with a shot to the head from a .12-gauge shotgun.

No suicide note was found, but according to a Port Authority police source, family members said Veal, a registered Democrat, was despondent over Bush's defeat of Sen. John Kerry. A second source said Veal, who lived in Athens, Ga., and worked for the University of Georgia, was also adamantly opposed to the war in Iraq.

More than three years after the Sept. 11 terror attacks, Ground Zero remains a top tourist attraction, the site rife with symbolism.

That sense of values is so warped that I can't even begin to understand it. I have no idea and I never will. Everyone I hear crying about Lurch's loss will make me think of that now and I won't be able to have any sympathy for them.

If these people know the Constitution, Amendment XIV, Section 3, they would have dropped sKerry like a plaque!!!

See what the disinformation of the democrats, with the help of the media, has caused? People are actually having dementia over the propaganda from the left.

It sucks!

As for liberals saying they are going to move if Bush won the election,I haven't seen or heard of one actually leaving, it is just more of their rhetoric, so don't anyone hold their breath waiting on the dock to wish them a Bon Voyage!

Do we need to have a fundraiser to buy them one-way bus tickets to Canada? We could call it "Thank God and Greyhound They're Gone!"

How did he get a shotgun into NYC when they're illegal?

Like most libs, the law is only for others.

That dumb-ass Kuznetsov is typical of the Dims. They talk the talk about democracy, but they don't really believe in it, and they sure don't get it. They are fascists at heart. This was democracy at its best. But according to them it doesn't count unless they get the result they want.

"What a waste" sums it up.
Of course, "Bush" will be blamed, but if any blame lies
at a doorstep, it lies at the doorstep of the left, Kerry/
Edwards, media like CBS, Teddy Kennedy, Michael Moore and
all the rest of the purveyors in lies. Personal
responsibility to buck up and take things like grownups also
enters in here. What do these people think WE felt like
when Clinton was re-elected? One day, if they live long
enough, they may fully understand the evil of the Clintons.

This is great news! One down, 56,158,907 to go. I think I'll open a kool-aid stand in downtown Boston or Cambridge.
Make some money and let despondent people make a statement at the same time. That's just me. I'm all about 'win-win'
situations.

The Dems could make some really interesting TV commercials for the 2008 election. "Vote Democratic, or else the little dweeb is going to do it to himself!"

If Republican is elected in 2008 social security will be taken away, black churches will burn and democrats will blow out their heads.

Had the MSM not lied to him, not tried to prop up Kerry (face it, if Kerry was 'viable', he wouldn't need propping), told it like it was, perhaps he might still be around.

At any rate, he better had made it to heaven, otherwise, the full folly of his decision has hit him.

This is really gonna tick-off Bloomberg. Only New York City gang-bangers are allowed to have guns.

On the upside - at least the guy wasn't caught smoking.
