Am I Blue? (Snotty, Condescending Liberal Mega-Cosmic Barf Alert! MUST SEE TO BELIEVE!)
Washington Post ^ | 11/07/04 | Michael Kinsley

Posted on 11/07/2004 1:13:08 AM PST by KentTrappedInLiberalSeattle

The election campaign made it official. These are the Disunited States. There is "Red" America: conservative, Republican, religious. And there is "Blue" America: liberal, Democratic, secular. Everybody's message from the election results is that Red America won, and Blue America must change or die. It's a terrible exaggeration, of course. People have different mixes of values, and states have different mixes of people. Just for example, more than 50 million, or 44 percent, of the 115 million citizens who voted for either George W. Bush or John Kerry on Tuesday live in states that went for the other guy. These misfits live publicly, mingle with others and often are treated like normal human beings. (For the half-million who voted for Ralph Nader, it may be a different story.)

I guess they are just confirming what we have all suspect. The American Left is just a bunch of Hitler wannabes. Their allegiance to Democracy is only lip service. The minute they LOSE, they started ranting about how LOUSY the USA is.

Since Mike is obviously overjoyed at the great things about to happen as a result of W and the Republicans' stunning victory, one can only hope that he's around for 8-years of another guy named Bush that starts in '08.

To the author I say "Go Leahy yourself. You lost. Get over it." I'm sick of the whiny Lefties. Reminds me of the old saying's punch line..."can't live with 'em, can't kill 'em."

What lazy thinking this "divided nation" crap is. We have fun here bashing liberals and all, but we all love among people who don't think exactly as we do. And it's ALWAYS been that way. Never have Americans been in complete agreement with each other--never. Yet the ultimate girlyman Kinsley prattles on and on about the sky falling.

The Loud Liberals (see the NYTimes op-ed page, Hillary, and other reactionary Democrats) seem to think that just because there are SOME people who don't goosestep to their drummer, it's an alarming situation. The rest of us understand this as being the very best thing about our country, not something to fear. They really should grow out of this sophomoric silliness and just live their lives and do their jobs and treat the people around them with respect.

LOL, One of my co-workers told me " Oh you just until '08, we'll get it back then". I said "Who say's there's going to be another election? President-for-life, baby!". She was not amused.

What a snivelling whiner.

"So, yes, okay, fine. I'm a terrible person -- barely a person at all, really, and certainly not a real American -- because I voted for the losing candidate on Tuesday. If you insist -- and you do -- I will rethink my fundamental beliefs from scratch because they are shared by only 47 percent of the electorate."

Note to Michael: You must mistake the rest of the country (liberals and conservatives) for someone who gives a damn. Who cares what you think? I'm not being snide, really--who cares? Is someone showing up at your house and demanding you change your views? No. So knock off the crybaby crap. I know liberals love the victim position but come ON.

"And please let me, or any other liberal, know if there is anything else we can do to abase ourselves. Abandon our core values? Pander to yours? Not a problem. Happy to do it. Anything, anything at all, to stop this shower of helpful advice."

Waaaaaah!!! You've got it all wrong, Mikeyboy--all I've been hearing since OUR SIDE WON on Tuesday is that WE have to change to accomodate you.

Where does he GET this stuff? He should stop hanging out with his fellow liberal crybabies all the time.

Hang with someone who doesn't think precisely as you do sometime, Mike. You'll loosen up.

It's true that people on my side of the divide want to live in a society where women are free to choose abortion and where gay relationships have full civil equality with straight ones. And you want to live in a society where the opposite is true. These are some of those conflicting values everyone is talking about. But at least my values -- as deplorable as I'm sure they are -- don't involve any direct imposition on you. We don't want to force you to have an abortion or to marry someone of the same gender, whereas you do want to close out those possibilities for us. Which is more arrogant?

This is absolute nonsense! They do indeed want to push their values upon "us" as a society. When a woman decides to exercise her "right" to an abortion, a life is ended, no matter what trimester or what procedure is used. The baby dies. I think that is pretty deplorable and I believe that if given the opportunity to argue the point the baby would argue the same.

As far as whom to marry is concerned they don't want the same rights as we do, they want superior rights and they don't just want equal recognition, they want the right to bring it into our schools and our homes and tell us what to think and believe.

There is a great divide in our country and it has to do with those moral values their side has suddenly discovered are very important to the rest of us.

Obedience to moral law requires humility; license does not.

I'd like to ask Mr. K if he thinks his mom should have had and exercised a "right" to an abortion. No fudging or changing the subject, just a straight answer.

No liberal ever answers that one straight.

My gay coworker voted for Bush. She states that we need a Bush more than a D*ck...I kid you not, she was serious.

You are right. This is about a bunch of losers who want it all to go their way every time. We suffered Clinton for 2 terms, God help us, and may never be the same. But we suffered quietly and worked hard to make changes and it worked.

If you haven't been over to the DU site, it's worth creating a fake email account just to see the stupidity that is going on over there. They truly do believe that they are going to die or that something that was "theirs" has been taken from them.

Of course you have to disinfect before logging on here again.

We on my side of the great divide don't, for the most part, believe that our values are direct orders from God.

What's this? A glimmer of light?

We don't claim that they are immutable and beyond argument.

Well, yes, actually, you do.

We are, if anything, crippled by reason and open-mindedness, . . .

Are you familiar with the old quip about being so open-minded your brains fall out?

. . . by a desire to persuade rather than insist.

That must be why libs on the talking head shows will not actually answer a question or even try to actually rebut a conservative point. They have their story (talking points) and they're sticking with it. In any case, "argument" is just a holding action until they find a Clintonista judge to enforce their side.

Which philosophy is more elitist?

Liberal. Next question.

Which is more contemptuous of people who disagree?

Teresa Heinz Kerry (or is she dropping the "Kerry" again?) has answered that.

The fact that this is their opinion on the results of the election is icing on the cake for me. They just keep saying that they must figure out a better way to "get their message out". Good call DEMS! I'm sure that you failed because people didn't know your message:

"Kill babies, support queers, raise taxes, and sign foreign policy decisions over to a world body."

Keep working on getting that out. I'm sure it'll be a hit.

Very good response when you have no grasp of any of the economic or social issues involved in the election: "We lost, so there must be even more ignorant people than we thought!"

Yuck!

He's wrong. His views DO impose on Republicans. He and his fellow Dems would like us all to pay for abortions, for harvesting fetuses, giving Federal, tax supported contracts to less-experienced and competant companies as long as they are owned by women or minorities. The list goes on and on. Liberals love to say "our issues don't force things on people like the religious right does"- no, they just want to take everyone's gun, tax you into socialism and spend your tax dollars on things many of us are diametrically opposed to.

Nobody said change or die.
The idea is "Change or be ignored".
