Piffle
Santorum does not control it. I can't see why we'd boycott one of the most strident opponents of the liberal judiciary because Specter got this position. Seems like cutting off your nose to spite your face.
Repeated and constant threats from the "base" will not achive your goal.
Nothing like biting off your nose to spite your face!
I'm at a loss here, Salami. Santorum is a strong prolife advocate and doesn't control the process. What are you thinking here?
Let's ignore your suggestions.
Not me sport.
Remember that our "devout Catholic" Santorum staunchly supported baby-killing Specter to end the campaign of conservative Pat Toomey.
No.
I don't think Governor Toomey would run against Santorum. Besides, Rick is a great conservative Senator. I'm sorry he supported Specter, but realistically it was Bush's support that put Specter over the top in the primary, not Santorum's.
Let's tell GWB we'll vote dem in 2008 too. That'll scare em.
Because of his staunch support of an infanticide-promoter like Specter, Santorum should join Kerry in refraining from Holy Communion.
Oops. I gave Toomey the governorship. I meant to say he'll be to busy running against Rendell for governor.
With all due respect--stuff it.
Santorum does not control this--heck, he's not even on the committee.
It's amazing you pretend to know so much, but in reality know so little.
Probably the issue of concern to most Catholics is the thought that Senator Specter will be in charge of moving President Bushs judicial nominees out of the Judiciary Committee. Im constantly reminded of his vote on Judge Robert Bork (though lets not forget his questioning of Anita Hill during Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomass confirmation hearings). The reality is Senator Specter has supported all six of President Bushs filibustered judicial nominees this session, both in committee and on the floor. Furthermore, he has said that when he becomes chairman of the Judiciary Committee, hell live by the bill he introduced in Congress last year that requires all judicial nominees who have the approval of their home-state senators to be reported out of the Judiciary Committee promptly.
Senator Specter, who has voted for every Bush judicial nominee, has said repeatedly that he doesnt apply a litmus test for judges. I know this for a fact because during the last three years, the senator and I have joined together to nominate 20 judges to the federal bench, including six Democrats. From the public information available about those nominees, all were conservative jurists and to my knowledgewith one exceptionwere also pro-life.
Santorum made a mistake on this one. Otherwise he has been first rate in every other way.
And Frist is pretty good. Moreover someone said he was planning to step down. After all, he's a doctor with other interests in life.
If anyone's to blame it's Bush and Rove, who probably twisted Santorum's arm and persuaded him to speak out. Now it's Bush's job to control the Frankenstein monster he helped create.
Dude your an idiot
In more ways than one.
And here I thought that circular firing squads were a particularly left-wing phenomenon.
This all doesn't sound very tolerant. Does not the Republican Party sport a pretty damn big tent?
