well.... the 12 tribes were:
- Southern Kingdom: judah, SImeon, Benjamin (and to some extent Levi)
- The northern kingdom: Manasseh, Ephraim, Isaacher, Dan, Naphthali, Reuben, Gad, Zebulun, Asher (and to some extent Levi).
So, the lost tribes would be numbering 9 (or 8 if you say that Manasseh and Ephraim, both beind descended from Joseph should be one tribe, just as those descended from Dan were one tribe)
