“ ...she and a handful of close friends read the newspapers to see if they could find a sort of mentor”

“She thinks back to when she didn't even know which candidate to support.”

“A vet with three Purple Hearts? How could you lose?”

Her logic is seared... seared in my mind!

I must make it a priority to find my own mentor before the next election. I need to find my own Sylvia Kaplan... someone who could nuture me and feed my mind with activist zeal!

"That was the first time I wasn't afraid to tell people who I was voting for," she said.

You need never, ever be "afraid to tell people who [you're] voting for," muffin.

Embarrassed in this case, yeah, sure... :)

She's not quite ready to say goodbye to the Kerry campaign yet. The button will stay on her purse for a while. And she'll wear the T-shirts.

You go darling! That is just fine.

After all, I still have my Swift Boat Vets' "Expose Kerry's Fraud" stickers on my trucks.......... and my W-'04 stickers. Let it all hang out!

What a weak person to have to look to others for self-esteem. To use an overused cliche that fits perfectly here, Get a life!

MAN there've been a lot of these "Dempression" articles!

"I still have my John Kerry button on my purse," she said. "When do you take it off? I'm definitely not ready to take it off."

I am deeply saddened...

However, there is a bright side -surely the buttons are recyclable and or biodegradeable -Kerry supporters can still contribute in some small way with recycling protests...

Kerry was actually onto something when he was begging John McCain to take the VP spot.

To win next time, the Democrats need to nominate a Republican as their candidate.

I can't find it in my heart to feel any pity for anyone dumb enough to support Kerry.

It's not surprising why the democrats lose elections. They have very immature "adults" working within their campaign, and in fact many of the highest level democrats are immature "adults". Case in point - Bill Clinton. This Prestegaard woman is truly a pathetic creature - a product of the self-esteem based American school system. I would be very interested to know what field she is in as a "young professional". My guess would be something like "massage therapy" or perhaps "underwater midwifery". Of course, she may be a "grad student", of the type who has 5-6 years in and still hasn't passed her prelims. I'll hazard a guess that many, if not most, of the 20-something people who support kerry are of this ilk.

She is a walking example as to why the voting age should be RAISED to at least 30.

“A vet with three Purple Hearts? How could you lose?”

The fact that he did get three Purple Hearts without a day in the hospital should have said enough to the voters to ensure he only got 10% of the vote. The actual results make you wonder just how dumb dumb can be.
