The chairman of the Louisiana Democratic Party, commenting on the party's stinging defeat in last week's U.S. Senate vote, called David Vitter's victory an "aberration" Monday, attributing it largely to the "long, long coattails" of President Bush and a fractured Democratic field.

Speaking to the Press Club of Baton Rouge, party chairman Mike Skinner acknowledged that last Tuesday was a long day for Democrats: "We've gotten the bear for a long, long time; this time, the bear got us."

Republicans call Demos liberal!

Democrats had fallen victim again, he said, to classic Republican strategies: "The Republicans were more effective, again, in painting us as liberals

Demos have a new found morality!

The fight over so-called "moral issues" shouldn't be ceded to Republicans, he insisted.

"Is it moral to pollute our air and water, that 44 million are without health insurance? I think we can frame our issues in terms of what's right for the country."

An aberration? The South has been bleeding 'Rat Senators for over twenty years! Louisiana has just been a little late to the Party. Zell tried to warn you idiots, but you wouldn't listen. Pretty soon there will be as many Senators in the South as there are monuments to William Tecumseh Sherman. Go ahead, stay in denial, end up as relevant as David Duke.

Is this why Mary Landrieu Barely squeaked in even with the DNC throwing everything they could into her re-election?

Hopefully, these guys won't "get it" too soon.

Without Mark Morial the dems couldn't steal the election here in NO like they did with Mary.

Sure.....that slow creeping Republican doom that has been taking over the South like Kudzu for 20 years without stopping is "an aberration". LOL. They don't get it. Aren't going to get it.

The worst quote of the article:

'He said, nonetheless, that Democratic Gov.
Kathleen Blanco was a safe bet for re-election.'

That must not happen.

I truly believe that Markie Mark stole the election for Mary. She was losing until late night when N.O. & Mark found enough votes for her to squeak by.

It is only an "aberration" if you consider "aberration" a rare and fleeting glimpse into reality by a Democrat.

I'm suprised it did happen.
I hope it won't happen again.
As usual, for Demos to win, they have to Lie. She made Bobby Jindal look like a evil 3rd world immigrant who wanted to steal health care from the poor in Louisiana.
This from the party of "tolerance".

Pretty soon there will be as many Senators in the South as there are monuments to William Tecumseh Sherman.

I hope you're right about that.

I vote against them every chance I get.
I guess I should move to New Orleans so I could vote early & often.
Now, I can only vote early.

I hope you're right.
I hope that Kudzu covers the dems like an old barn in the back 40.
It's always been there,
but one day, you look out
& you just can't see it.
All of the little vines ensnared it while it wasn't moving.

I detest Mary Landrieu. I would have voted for a goat over her sorry a$$.

I voted for the man who's name I couldn't even pronounce or spell. That's how much I despise her.
