(CNSNews.com) - The U.S. assault on Fallujah is prompting some disgruntled military families to once against take their anti-war and anti-Bush views public.
The fighting in Fallujah brings "predictions of casualty levels not seen since major battles in the Vietnam War," the families said in a press release issued on Tuesday.
"Military families with loved ones currently serving in Iraq -- in Fallujah, Ramadi, Samarra, Baghdad and other areas -- have deep and continuing concerns about the failed policies of the Bush Administration in Iraq that are putting their loved ones, all of our troops and the people of Iraq at such grave risk."
The press release names ten military families who are making themselves available for media interviews. They complain that the "U.S. military occupation of Iraq" is the problem, not the solution.
"This reckless military misadventure, this war based on lies, has already resulted in the death of over 1,130 U.S. troops; perhaps 100 times that number of Iraqi children, women and men; and the physical and psychological wounding of tens of thousand more soldiers and Iraqis," the families said.
"Military Families Speak Out calls on the Bush Administration and the U.S. Congress to immediately halt the assault on Fallujah, and make the decision and plans necessary to end the occupation of Iraq and return all troops to their home duty stations."
The families named in the press release all have sons, husbands or brothers serving in the U.S. military.
The Massachusetts-based Military Families Speak Out, formed in Nov. 2002, describes itself as an organization of people who oppose the war in Iraq.
"As people with family members and loved ones in the military, we have both a special need and a unique role to play in speaking out against war in Iraq. It is our loved ones who are, or have been, or will be on the battlefront. It is our loved ones who are risking injury and death. It is our loved ones who are returning scarred from their experiences. It is our loved ones who will have to live with the injuries and deaths among innocent Iraqi civilians," the group's website says.
The group has participated in various anti-war rallies and vigils and it also lobbies members of Congress.
If I were once again in the military, I would be ashamed if my parents acted like this.
How long will their big dig project last until it fills with water and caves in?
Figures.
And what, precisely, does a group of pacifistic hippies know about "major battles" and "grave risk"?
The idea that some snuffy's mommy knows more about current operations than snuffy's CO does is ridiculous. Ree-g*ddamn-diculous.
I will never understand why these kooks are taken seriously by so many people.
Where's that "Oh Gheezzz Not This Shite Again" pic when ya need it?
Not meaning you kattracks, just those igits in the article.
The signs look like the Vietnam era protests and some of the groups on their links page have roots from the old protest movements.
Quick analysis: In the past, society frowned upon leftists in time of war. Now they are being tolerated so you have outrages like leftist 9-11 and military family members undermining the war effort. The radicalization of the dem party is a major component. The left will stop at nothing until they achieve their aims. They do not care about election results - or about their family members, as compared to their political agenda.
Does the press release offer info on types of units these folks say they represent? Regulars? NGs? My parents would have turned the dogs loose on anyone trying to recruit them into a lashup like this.
this is not military families speaking out ...... it is the communists..... and socialist of the new democratic party ..... whos policies were just beaten into the ground...... ignore them... they do not count any longer

They seem to forget that not all US Military Deaths were combat, but rather accidents that could happen here in their home bases. The inflated number of Iraqi deaths some how discount those under their own Government and those of the bad guys killing their own.
What do these IDIOTS think about their portests only giving hope to the bad guys and prolonging the fighting????
God Bless the men and women in uniform and thank them for the hardships they are going through.
You got that right. I feel bad for the young men and women who have these seditious bastards as parents. It figures they are from John Kerry's home state.
Probably signed up for all the "freebies" the military gives, not knowing that - OH MY - they may actually have to "perform" for the military.
Massholes
The Left is now backing the head hackers. Its amazing how their opposition to fighting evil is so consistent. Its not like they've ever expressed concern for the innocent victims of terrorism. Typical of pacifists and opponents of American power on behalf of good.
Due to being a transplanted Brit, I currently have a son in the LaNG in Fallujah and a daughter just completed her training and is due to serve in Basrah with the British TAVR(NG).
Prior to their departures, we sat down and discussed their fears, worries and expectations. Many of which I had experienced in my 24 yr service in the Army.
I would never be so arrogant as to presume their motivations
and attitudes.I have always believed in the adage " by their deeds you shall know them".
This story is like the anti-gun tales one gets when ever someone goes postal...it focuses on a few activists and fails to represent the majority.
I am proud of my children, proud of their service and proud of the two countries they represent and revel in their successes.
It is the difference between night and day, these 10 families hate their own children, hate their service, hate their country and wish them failure.
