You guys are so sensitive. Women have been disparaged for years, decades, millenia. But call a guy a dolt and the world comes to an end. Turnabout is fair play (unless you're a guy).

That is one of the main tenants of Liberalism and the NOW hags. Men are evil, and fathers are more so.

The theme of a lot of commercials is, "Here's so-and-so struggling along using an inferior brand, while THIS person is getting great results with OUR product." In those commercials, the dolt using the wrong brand is almost always a white male, and he has to be set straight by the other character, who is always a female and/or minority. I've long been wondering when white males were going to start getting sick of this.

I think, now that it knows it is selling to Red America, Madison Avenue needs a new credo when pitching new ads: WWWD?

(What Would Ward Do?)

I hate the one where the father brings phones for everyone and they hug mom and leave dad standing there wanting and craving affection. So sad.

This kind of ad-crap, the public school system, radical feminazis, and the liberal agenda in large part re the reason that four groups of four ragheaded scum were able to commandeer and crash four airliners with virtaully no resistance.

The most "heroic" acts of "resistance" took place over PA when the "reistors" finally got around to using a serving cart to try to bash in the door to an already-hijacked cockpit -- after they watched as flight attendants had their throats slashed and it became clear that there was nothing to lose by shouting "Let's Roll!!" -- a meal service cart, that is, according to the final offical report of the September 11 Commission...........

Verizon ain't the only one bashing men. Just listen to any commercial on the radio when a man and a woman are pushing a product; the woman is always the all-wise, all knowing, while the man is a klutz.

Top that off with a sign outside of a Christian school depicting a young female with cap and gown with the words "Educating the next generation of leaders".

It's the whole culture.

Thank God my children had my husband to help with homework. I can manage with English and History, but Math is a nightmare. Enter Dad.

My husband and youngest daughter (junior in hs) sit down to go over her math and chemistry almost nightly. I think they both enjoy the interaction with one another, its nice for both of them.

I have definitely watched this trend in commercial advertisements. Many come to mind. Bashing a man is becoming pervasive in entertainment and otherwise in our culture here in the USA..

BUT what I find much more troubling is the taking of this point to extremes with the increasing number of MOVIES and TV SHOWS that have a theme, whether main or secondary, of women or girls kicking mens butts up one side of the screen and down the other - unaccepatable gender based violence.

Besides being completely unrealistic (women in most cases cant even think about the capability of doing such), it is the direct result of this same old liberal, entertainment fantasy that they would like to promote.

I never cease to be amazed at how hate-filled and violent leftists are. I will be fighting this trend toward developing females as hostile and violent to men. It will never be acceptable in a world where I draw breath. I will teach my sons the same.

I saw a similar commercial, with an eager dad giving cell phones to his wife and daughters in hopes they'd stay in touch with him. They all fluffed him off and stalked out of the room, leaving him alone. It was so sad, I almost cried. This hardly seems a good marketing ploy.

The radio commercials for Activa Travel are also anti-male. In one, the husband suggests a hotel for their anniversary. The tech-savvy wife checks it on Activa and finds a golf course. "What's that?" she asks. The husband stammers. The wife retorts, "Nice try." and vetos the decision.

In another, the wife (a tech-savvy, sharp businesswoman) plans her trip on the computer, announcing that she's decided to extend her "girls only" vacation by an extra day. The husband whines that's it's no fair her being away so long. "Oh, like your comic book convention?" the wife retorts, thus shutting up the husband.

In another, a tech-savvy wife plans a vacation while the husband struggles (ineffectually) with the kids.

In all these commercials, the wife is the smart, tech-savvy one. The husband is whiny and ineffectual.

I'm sick and tired of the male bashing in this country. Especially trying to make fathers look less than masculine. When you have to try so hard to attempt to make the father look weak...there's something wrong. I know many a father including my own and my husband who are strong and caring and loving and sensitive and who would have fought to the death to protect their families. Another case of trying to shove something down our throats and figure if we listen or watch it long enough we will agree with the trash we are seeing.

Long live the men
Long live the women
They are different no matter how hard someone likes to say they are not and for that I thank God.
Men truly love women
Women truly love men
And for those good men and women I thank God as well.
It's time we stop bashing each other and remember a mother and father is someone a child needs to look up to. Trying to make the father look weak and the mother look strong and smarter and all that is assinine not to mention the damage it does to the children.

Women have been the strength behind man since the beginning of time. We don't need to go out there and shout it to the world. Men have been the strength FOR women since the beginning of time. Wanting to protect them and always do what is right for them. There's nothing wrong with either scenario.

There's always somebody trying to divide people and our country. Men be men. Women be women. Fathers be fathers. Mothers be mothers. Love each other and don't compete. That's not what love and marriage is all about. Love and marriage is first off loving each other, working together as a team for the betterment of your families and then entering into your golden years still in love, holding hands, helping each other still and enjoying their now adult children who have grown, developed and truly know the love their parents had for each other and for them. There is no better reward.

It's time to stop the madness and move on.

My wife has gotten tired of me commenting about this, but she agrees. Dodge has the family where the guy is a knuckle-dragger, or at the grill sets the oven-mit on fire, or can't fold up the stroller to put in the van.

I like the Levi's commercial where the guy gives his ex a flower, and while she is putting it in water, he get's his jeans and gets out. Treats guys quite well...

... after learning about a TV ad that shows a father trying, but failing, to help his young daughter with her homework.

The father failed to help his daughter with her homework, cause he had Verison DSL service.

I used to have all kind of service starting with 56K through ISDN, Satellite, DSL and Roadrunner.

Verizon DSL was the WORST, constant disruptions and unreliability of service, after several complains they finally send a service guy down, he told me with straight eye" You now, I don't really now much about DSL, your line seems fine to me. That was it.

With current growing broadband option DON'T EVER EVEN THINK ABOUT VERIZON DSL, anything else is better.

Has anyone heard the STUPID Hardees radio commercials?? The voice over is explaining how to open a cereal box for goodness sake and the instructee can't even do that right as the bag bursts and send the cereal all over the floor. Their tag line is "Without Hardees, some guys would go hungry", or some such nonsense....it REALLY pisses me off, and I'm their target market!!!

Add Cox Cable to Verizon – the wife has a channel blocked that the dad wants to watch. Daughter thinks it’s great.

I always try to point out to our girls how TV/Hollywood/Madison Avenue attempt to portray parents in general and dads in particular as idiots. It's tough business trying to be a father to teenage girls. I'm fortunate that my two take after their mother. It's an awesome responsibility trying to show them with your deeds the kind of man that you hope they'll marry. I hope they'll never tire and always be excited about going with me to the hockey games and the gun range.
