How do they know that the seismic activity isn't related to the new dome? I don't think their experience is broad enough to rule out a relationship.

I saw the major explosion of Mt St. Helens in 1980. We lived in Portland at the time. Mt Hood (about 50 miles east of Portland) was showing seismic activity and everyone was concerned... turned out to be loggers blowing up tree stumps on the east side of the mountain.

BTW... mt st. Helens is also 50 miles north of Portland. We got "ashed" by the mountain several times.
