It has been long speculated that alexander might have been bi- or homo-sexual. It was fairly common in Greece and Macedonia during those times. Given the fact that Hollywood is full into the Gay agenda, and given who the actors are and who is directing it, it's not much of a leap to assume that they would emphasize this aspect.
Movie Subtext: A gay guy conquered the known world. It will happen again. Don't fight it...

I agree.
Frankly, while very brutal, had they allowed Tarantino to direct it could have been a great film.
The violence didn't sicken me, but the camera work sure did.

Macedonia (the ancient one) is IN Greece. The speculation has only been around in the last century with the homosexual movement to declare as many dead people homosexuals as possible.
Even Abraham Lincoln is now "rumored" to have had homosexual liazons per homo-advocates.
You are 100% correct it is motivated by the homosexual agenda, which is in full denial following the passage of all 11 defense of marriage amendments.

The History Channel just had a great show on Alexander the Great... That was awesome.

In my opinion, much better than "Rudy". Mind you, they are different kinds of flicks.

Even Abraham Lincoln is now "rumored" to have had homosexual liazons per homo-advocates. Hadn't heard that one. On what flimsy shred of evidence are they trying to hang that on? His hat size perhaps?
If there is another terrorist attack in this country I fervently hope and pray that they do humanity a favor and hit Hollywood. Preferably during the Oscars.

He wrote MIDNIGHT EXPRESS, which was damn good. PLATOON was good - its politics were typical Hollywood leftism, but it was very well done. JFK was brilliantly made - historically laughable, but the filmmaking was amazing and very influential. ANY GIVEN SUNDAY was a good movie. Pacino was a little over the top, but that's been his style for the last ten years or so.
Stone has made some duds - NATURAL BORN KILLERS, NIXON, BORN ON THE 4TH OF JULY, WALL STREET - but his best movies are quite gripping. It'll be too bad if ALEXANDER stinks. But I'll make up my own mind...

they just ignore Alexander's love letters to his wife and the fact he had a son.
Ummm...there are an immense number of gay men married to women with families....

I saw Alexander many years ago with Richard Burton playing the lead role.
I can't remember how accurate it was historically but it was a good movie. I bet much better than this one.

Perhaps the OTHER two alexander movies currently being made will get it right.
Based on who is behind those two, I really doubt it.

What do you expect? It was directed by the traitorous Oliver Stoned.

I can't understand recommending anything from that traitor. Oliver Stone is in the same boat of entertainers along with Jane Fonda, Donald Sutherland, Timmy Robbins, Susan Sarandon, et al.

But all this stress on historical fidelity is a bit over the top, I think. These aren't documentaries. Whoops,. I forgot. After Michael Moore, the word documentary is without relevant meaning or significant import.
Carry on.

It's an Oliver Stone film. How can it be shockingly bad?
To: gopwinsin04
Just got home from watching 'Alexander' up at the Directors Guild of America proceeded by a Q & A session with Oliver Stone. Stone said that he just finished the film on Friday and in my opinion it looks like he just rushed out out the door.Does he have a second archer on the grassy knoll of Mesopotamia?

Americans have already pretty much turned their backs on Hollyweird movies. The studio's make only 25% of their profit in America, the other 75% is from overseas releases.
Now you know why Hollyweird is so left, they know which side their bread is buttered on and pander to their major audience.
