Requests come in for (Arafat) funeral attendance [terrorist murderer will have respect given to him]
Jerusalem Post ^ | Nov. 10, 2004 | NINA GILBERT

Requests by international visitors to attend Arafat's funeral have already started coming in, Deputy Internal Security Minister Yaakov Edri, who is filling in for Gideon Ezra while he is abroad, said Wednesday.

A farewell ceremony for Arafat will be held in Cairo's International Airport on Thursday. Arafat's funeral will be held in Ramallah on Friday.

French President Jacques Chirac has alerted Israel that he will attend the funeral. German's Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer will attend the ceremony in Cairo, as will the deputy foreign ministers of Britain, Russia and Spain. United Nations' Kofi Annan, however, is not expected to arrive.

The United States and some European states are not planning to send their heads of states to a funeral for the ailing Arafat, but will send cabinet ministers or diplomats instead, diplomats said Tuesday.

While the 75-year-old Arafat's health sharply deteriorated Tuesday, countries were discussing how to pay their respects to a man who was seen as the father of the Palestinian nation and ther father of modern terrorism.

For the United States, the issue is a double-edged diplomatic sword.

President George W. Bush has sidelined Arafat since the start of his presidency.

A US official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said no decisions had been made but several options were being considered for the funeral, from sending US Secretary of State Colin Powell to having former US presidents attend, such as Bill Clinton or Jimmy Carter.

European diplomats, speaking on condition of anonymity, said EU member states were coordinating, and representation at the funeral would probably be at the ministerial level.

South Africa and Brazil will also send their presidents.

It is sickening that states will be sending their representatives to a great Islamic murderer of not only Jews, but also other citizens. I wonder if they will be in attendance at Osama's funeral.

I plan to pour an entire carafe of my favorite coffee on Arafat's grave...right after it passes through my kidneys.

Since he has a history of urinating on things, perhaps we should send Ozzy Osbourne.

This might be a great opportunity to send Hillary.

Not only could she comfort the widow, but we would gain great ammunition and photos to be used during her 2008 run for CIC.

SEND THE SENATOR FROM NEW YORK!

I wish the Bush administration would send Hillary.

They should put in a public request for her to comfort Suha Arafat again.

Mr. Peanut and the Lip Biter.

After all, he met with Arafat in the White House more times than any legitimate head of state.

Is it going to be one of those open casket affairs? I hear his carcass is getting mighty ripe.

Why can't we send Bill, Hillary and Jimmy? They liked him so much in life let them show their respects. Leave the rest of the country out of it.

No way Colin Powell should go. This administration did everything it could to distance itself from Arafat when he was alive, no need to legitimize him now.

At very least, send Bill. He should be able to give his dear friend respects personally.

well I'd say something about someone leaving a GPS receiver nearby so a Daisy Cutter would be dropped but I'm not going to say that...., that would be inappropriate and not in the spirit of the solemn occasion, after all it is a funeral of a terrorist - er, I mean a leader of the Palestine people.....

The "Streets of Gaza Strip" sung to Bruce Springstein's "Streets of Philadelphia"

He was bruised and battered by the virus, and he couldn't tell

what he felt

He was unrecognizable to himself

Saw his reflection in a mirror and he didn't know

his own face

Oh my many gay bodyguards are you gonna leave me

wasting away

On the streets of Gaza Strip

I walked the Muqata'a Compound till my legs felt like stone

I heard the voices of those I terrorized vanished and in my head

At night I could hear their spilled blood in my veins

Just as black and whispering as the Palestinian rain

On the streets of the Gaza Strip

Is the Devil gonna greet me

It's just you and I my terrorist friend

And my clothes don't fit me no more

I walked a thousand miles in this confined compound

just to slip this skin

The night has fallen in France, I'm lyin' in a Coma

I can feel myself fading away

So receive me Satan with your faithless kiss

or will we leave each other alone like this

In the streets of the Gaza Strip

Brilliant!

But the very reason we want her to go is the exact reason she won't do it. Expect Hillary to take a turn to the right for the next 4 years. She knows that being a "moderate" democrat is the only chance she has in 2008.

My niece asked my why he was allowed to wear guns at the UN. I couldn't give her an honest answer.
