Yeah a lot of kids can get opening day off from high school here in Mi.
Yup, she is ready to move on to the proper handgun....maybe a .44 magnum or .454 Casull.......those canons will definitely dislocate her shoulder and probably conk her in the head as well.........don't forget your ear plugs
Almost 60 so trekin' through the woods is not my cup of tea either. To me, deer hunting is grocery shopping. I hope to get that buck from my deck.
I do believe they hunt other things than deer in Virginia. Quail and ducks for example, both of which can involve dogs.
I can smell it roasting! That's some boar. Shoulda saved some of that blood and sent it to the boys in the sand.
"She obviously never shot a gun before, or she'd have known what to expect from a measely .22LR."
Still, she can get some hits with the 10/22, and three or four torso hits ought to take care of anything that walks through into her home uninvited.
I wish I had a host so I could post a picture of my 90# niece handling my .45 very well. I took her to the range, and brought the little Beretta 21A, which she politely tried, and placed on the table with contempt, and asked for the Colt MKIV.
But then, her father is a big hunter and reloader, so it's not like she grew up in Manhattan.
He has PETA to thank for that one.
PETA freaks cut a fence that was holding them in and the owner (Ted Nugent) was responsible for any damage or injuries caused by them. Nugent put the word out that they needed to be killed and my friend saw it and got a bonus.
I would want some HEAVY artillery for anything like that.
Regards
HAH! I just love it when a plan comes together. One of my neighbors said I could shoot anything I want on his land. Except for him and his dog. Funny thing is, he never mentioned his wife!?!?
I'm glad that she can shoot the gun - and I hope that she continues to shoot it and many others, and that she introduces many of her friends and co-workers to shooting.
However, 3 or 4 torso hits with a .22LR may not be lethal or stop an attacker - at least not in time to prevent the attacker himself from doing damage. She'd be better off with a 20-gauge shotgun with an 18 inch barrel. No, .22LR hits won't improve your health, but I read about a goblin who took 18 hits, still killed the guy who shot him (and his wife), and was able to walk 2 miles before collapsing of blood loss. I'd rather have a .22LR than nothing, but I'd rather have a lot of other things before a .22.
I once was planning for deer season and said "if it's brown it's down" A black coworker was nearby and said he wasn't going anywhere near the woods if I was going to be out there. LOL
"We ambush them up here. We jump out of trees with a knife clenched in our teeth and slit their throats. LOL."
ROFLMAO! You're my kind of hunter!
I love to shoot. We have a trap shoot at our farm every fall. It's gotten to be The Event of the Season.
I stopped hunting myself because my brothers are so darn good at it, they give me a few deer each season. Of course, I have to butcher them, but that's actually very interesting. We fire up the wood stove out in the shed and play "Bambi Pathologist, CSI."
Life is Good in the North Wood. :)
I just started hunting 2yrs. ago when I moved to WV from NYC. Never hunted there. Too many New Yorkers with guns in the woods.
A friend of mine in NY used to go every year and hunt on relatives property up-state. I would send up fresh tuna with him and they would send down fresh venison. I thought it was a great deal and so did they.
I love pics of babes with guns!!
And thank you for your service and welcome home!!
Back in our youth my friend was the kind of guy who would get drunk and pick a fight with the biggest guy he could find.
If she buys a handgun in NYC, she'll have to be a resident with references. She'll have to get a license for simple home possession, and the weapon registered. It will take months. People with concealed carry licenses are not getting them renewed without good reason after a city councilman was shot and killed at City Hall because of Bloomboob's subsequent decree. The boob said no one in NYC needs a gun, IIRC. Firearms Laws for New York City as of November 1998
man that's one big fish.
