We ambush them up here. We jump out of trees with a knife clenched in our teeth and slit their throats. LOL.
Sounds MUCH more sportin'

I didn't know that one could get a handgun -- even just for home possession -- here in NYC.
What kind of references does one need?

.44 is too big for a noobie. She needs a .380.

From the link in # 39
The applicant for a handgun license must:
1. Be of "good moral character."
By that they mean references who will vouch you're not a nut job, IIRC.

Facing another four years of Bush, I realized it was high time to see what the Second Amendment crowd is so frothed up about. Beyond the spec arguments, most important is that this gives me hope for the libs. Every *single* one I've ever taken out to the range has changed their minds about big ol' nasty firearms after the proper handling and (fun of) shooting. Exposed to the light of day.
There was a WWII Japanese leader that said something to the effect of they couldn't invade the continent because 'there's a rifle behind every blade of grass.'

All Americans should ignore, disobey and defy all gun laws. Is there some part of "shall not be infringed" that's hard to understand?
To: Emmett McCarthy
That attitude will get you a long way at the gun shop.

Judging from your tagline, I was wondering if ol' Uncle Ted had anything to do with that boar. He's the only person I've heard of that keeps wild boar up there.

There are no "gun laws", only illegal legislative acts.

They hunt deer with dogs in Virginia?
Looks like it's legal in about half of Virginia.

Bullets shoot out of the rifle at a top speed of 545 miles per hour, and have enough umph to maintain momentum up for about two miles. A .22? Maybe if you aim it at the ground from an airplane 2 miles up.

Cut the newby a little slack. She's probably regurgitating a factoid given to her. The numbers for maximum range, i.e. fired at an angle of 45 degrees to the horizontal, seem about right at this
site.

M16 failed on me. Extractor retaining pin broke and failed to extract. That's not good in the dark. AR15s are too expensive and illegal, first in NYC, now the state.
The sound of just chambering a pump shotgun stopped an altercation that another friend had on an apartment roof with a knife wielding thug.
The logic of a centerfire .25 auto handgun ammo always escaped me when compared to .22 LR, especially STINGER. Everybody's different, JMHO.
