Absolutely... Republicans have always been True-Blue since the north wore blue uniforms in the Civil War and the RATS were always COMMIE-RED, and hated it, so in 2000 they glommed onto blue knowing full we would NEVER be accused of being commies where it was KILLING them!!!

Aha! Right you are, but 51-48 is still a win and I'm sure we're all relieved that Kerry didn't make it. I believe the electoral college vote is certified on December 13 this year.

Great website, thanks for the post.Yes it is. Very informative. I invite the curious to check out the election results for the years 1960, 1964, 1968, 1972, 1980. The Kennedy-Nixon election of 1960, graphically as well as statistically represented, is intriguing.

On DU, the Democrats were complaining that Bush keeps gaining. "Why are all the discrepencies in Bush's favor, they asked."
Can you believe it, they actually wrote "Bush"?

My only problem with this guy's site is that he makes "red" states blue. Geez, you'd think he'd get with the program. This is totally irrelevant, but if you follow Sister Wendy's series on Art History that was aired on PBS. The thesis she propounds is that red was the color that the artists at the Birth of Liberalism --the French revolution, etc. selected to symbolize their movement. Remember the Red Flag of the Soviet Union. I think the blue for libs came from the Blue Dog comic strip that they adopted to symbolize of the twilight of the democrat party after the fall of Rostenkowski and Wright and the ascendancy of Newt Gingrich and the take over of the House by the Good Guys. As usual the Rats/MSM have tried to turn tradition topsy-turvy-- and this time succeeded.

I don't think it's in their interest for people here in America to make the connection. I made the connection, and I've complained more than once that we are the red voters.

Not that it really matters...."Red=Republican" may be an invention of the MSM, but it's now been accepted as a convenient color code, not only on election nights, but by everyone who now comments on American politics. Just ask the guys who run http://www.redstate.org
Frankly, I think the color-code stuck after USA Today published the 2000 election returns by county. The country was so dramatically "red" that the color assignment stuck.

I did not know that MN was so close in 1980. MN was the closest state in 1984. Mon-dull lost 49 states in 1984, but that wasn't enough. He had to lose Minnesota in 2002 so he could say that he was rejected by all 50 states at some point in his political career.

64 million would have been nice, but I'll settle for 60 million and a majority in the electoral college.
To: 0siris
I hope that happens! If for no other reason then I like to kick Democrats in the teeth. :D
