Images from the Battle of Fallujah (lest we forget or take it for granted)
Yahoo News Photos ^ | 11/12/04

Posted on 11/12/2004 11:27:25 AM PST by Wolfstar

This thread honors the service and sacrifice of our Armed Forces, and reminds us of why we here at home can go about our daily business in peace. Street-to-street is the toughest type of warfare. Air cover is being flown by pilots from the USS John F. Kennedy, as well as the U.S. Air Force from bases in the area.

Here is the "moral values" question from the exit polls -- pictures speak thousands of words.

No; just a very boyish looking Latino. (Though there's probably a few dead jihadis who wish he were a girl!)

I'm guessing the Corps in flying in support as well! But I know what you mean.

I pray that we honor them a lot better than John "Jenjis Khaaan" Kerry did after Nam.

Me too -- it's up to us to see that they are honored.

Here is the "moral values" question from the exit polls.

You got that right. What astonishes me about the naval-gazers in DC and our media is that, OK, some 22% in a proven-less-than-reliable exit poll said "moral values" motivated their vote. Well, duh, that means the votes of 78% of the electorate were motivated by something else. I don't think it takes a rocket scientist (or the media elite) to understand that the events on and since 9/11/01 affected this election outcome in a huge way.

I tell ya....when you stop and think about what these young troops are doing over there - and for how little some are getting paid to do it - it makes all the little petty, dip$h!t issues we find so troubling pale in comparison...doesn't it?

Here I sit - an old Soldier already with one combat tour under my belt - working in the Pentagon making twice what these young troops make....and I feel guilty as hell. I am trying my best to get back to Iraq. I feel so out-of-place.

I find it incomprehensible that we have people with so little character and moral fiber in this country who criticize our brave troops who are sacrificing everything to make sure all Americans can live free of worry about lying down in their comfortable beds at night.

When I read some of the postings from DU earlier this week from those pathetic, worthless, sad excuses for human beings - wishing harm on our troops for our actions in Iraq - it made me so much more than angry. It enraged me so much that I was near tears - and I just don't cry - ever.

How can people live with such smallness and ignorance in their hearts and minds. They are without a soul - that's all I can figure.

I wish they could all feel the hardship of battle. I wish they could feel the pain they cause cast back into their small, empty hearts.
