When I watch TV and see clips of the fighting in Fallujah, I am always a little scared. I have a nephew who is a Marine Sniper, and I worry about him. But another feeling is always there as well, and I want to share it here: Pride. Damn, our guys are good!!
And they arent just good- they are good people. The way they work together as teams, the discipline, and the toughness. And perhaps most impressive to me: how smart they are. The on the ground military has developed a skill that many corporations would be wise to copy- learn, adapt, change. Our guys fight differently now than a year ago, and it shows in their effectiveness. When our combat leaders give press conferences they are thoughtful, measured, humble. Unlike the braying hounds of the media grilling them.
It seems the world in general, and Zarqawi in particular, had forgotten what US Combat power can do. They are getting a little booster shot in Fallujah. And its pretty damn impressive.
The combined activity of Marines on the ground, Marines and Air force in the air, and Army armor and artillery has finally blown away that other liberal defeatist myth: cant win urban warfare. Cant win? How about takes about a week to flatten the hostiles in your city, leave all the non-military targets untouched, and minimize civilian casualties. Next!!
One of the things about the campaign that made me so mad I wanted to explode was the way the Dems denigrated what our guys were doing. Now that the election is over, I hope the entire nation, blue as well as red, shows the level of respect and support that our truly heroic men and women in uniform deserve.
There is no man more honorable than a Marine.
I am proud to have had the pleasure of serving with some very fine Marines when I was in the Navy... I am sure the guys today are not different.. God Bless Them!
Our Marines are the Best of the Best!
My buddy served during the first phase of the war. He came home and lost his left leg in a terrible motorcycle accident. Otherwise he would have returned to Iraq. That was two months ago and he's already back at work at the bike dealership. He doesn't even have a handicap sticker for his truck. Yeah, Marines are tough.
cool pic !!!
It has been amazing to me to see actual video of our Marines in the middle of this battle; even more so than watching the original Iraqi Freedom operation. I have never felt such admiration, pride, love or gratitude in my life.
I'm so proud of these men and women, not children as some would try to call them, these men and women who serve to keep us free.
Ask Manuel Noreiga about how we fight in an urban environment. There weren't many civilian casualties there either.
I was watching Fallujah footage by way of the thread below.
I love these guys!!!!
admin moderator..how about a little help here please.. for the troops...?
I saw a photo today of two U.S. soldiers in full battle gear sleeping on a double bed in a captured Iraqi house. Both were sleeping in such a way that their boots didn't touch (and thus soil) the ornate coverlet belonging to their "hosts." The fact that they cared about such a thing speaks volumes.
God Bless America's Marines and all our military!
