"With the blessing of this day, may God help the people of the world to live in prosperity and tranquility and may God solve all the problems of Muslims as well as all the world." -- Afghan leader Hamid Karzai speaking at the beginning of the Eid al-Fitr celebration.
Special blessings to brave Iraqi policemen, soldiers, and politicians.
And a very special blessing to President Bush who have helped the lady Muslims get the vote. Go W!!
Eid Mubarak, Muslim FReepers.
(I'm sure there's one somewhere).
Yes, if they can stand not getting insulted all the time and lumped in with the terrorists.
Yes, I imagine this isn't the most pleasant forum for anyone who's proud of being Muslim but still isn't a terrorist.

Bush wishes Pakistan Eid Mubarak
ISLAMABAD: US President George W Bush wished Pakistan Eid mubarak on Saturday and assured Islamabad of Washingtons continued commitment to making the world more prosperous and free from terror.
In separate messages to President Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, President Bush extended his heartfelt greetings to them and the people of Pakistan on the occasion of Eidul Fitr. In his message to President Musharraf, he said that in the past year Pakistan had worked closely with the United States to make our world a more peaceful place, free from terror and violence.
Addressing Prime Minister Aziz, President Bush appreciated his work towards achieving greater economic and educational opportunities for the Pakistani people, adding that the two countries had worked closely to build a more prosperous world, with greater economic and educational opportunities for all, assuring him of Americas continued commitment to that common purpose. app
Just a lot of diplomatic nicety. Don't read too much into it.
It's really, really hard to hold one's tongue.
Considering that there are wars going on TODAY in the following countries:
ACHEH *
AFGHANISTAN *
ANGOLA *
BOUGAINVILLE/PAPUA NEW GUINEA *
BURMA *
BURUNDI *
CHECHNYA/RUSSIAN FEDERATION *
COMOROS *
CONGO, DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC *
CONGO, REPUBLIC OF *
CYPRUS *
EAST TIMOR *
ERITREA *
ETHIOPIA *

What do these countries have in common? Well, it all boiles down to the fact that there are Muslums who can't get along with each other, or their neighbors.
So, I do hope Muslums have a pleasant holiday; so now they can work at pulling their collective head out of thier backsides; and start working WITH the world, instead of trying to exterminate the rest of the world.
Actions speak much louder than words.
Electronic Eid card that features President Bush. I think it is gentle teasing. He tried to speak Arabic I guess.

they celebrate Eid with IED's :p
That's pretty funny. I especially liked how they had the Muslim translator talk in the gay sing-song fashion that is so typical of how men talk in the Middle East and South Asia.
I spent last Eid in Kuwait city. I spent most of my time in the desert, but did stay in town for a while. Many of the Kuwaitis are pro-U.S.. In several places in the city, you can find "Thank you USA" type banners flown across the street, alongside signs commemorating the 605 Kuwaitis who where 'disappeared' by Saddam in the first Gulf War.
I was pleasantly surprised how many Kuwaitis (all men of course) came up to me to practice their English (which in some cases is better than mine). I talked to one guy at a gas station for 30 minutes.
Eid is a cool holiday. Being a night owl, I could get used to sleeping all day and staying awake all night. It is weird to be in a traffic jam at 1:00 am though.
The card is making fun of Bush, too. You know how he sometimes struggles with his words. But it isn't done to be mean.
The best part of Eid is the food!
I'm sure there were lots of places in the US in the early 1940's where people who were proud of being German but weren't Nazi's might feel a tad uncomfortable
Bush struggles with his word? You don't say! :D
I'm sure.
They finally get to eid!
Pinging Muslim Freepers.
Yes. IF you travel you see that there are many normal Muslims who don't hate us.
And the ones who do have had their minds darkened by the propaganda of really sick dictators and psychopaths.
My husband has spent holidays in the ME, too.
They party all nite and then came into the office--somehow.
They fast during the day and eat at night. Sounds exhausting if you have to get up for work.
