I was amazed that this movie with its deeply-conservative themes got made. It's terrific, and the animation is way beyond incredible.

My 13-year old daughter has seen it twice so far and she loves it. She wants to see it again. She told me about the attempted suicide scene and the lawsuit and she said, "It's just like real life."

Did you also notice that the main (symphathetic) government agent looked like Richard Nixon and was named "Dick?"

Going to see it tonight! Boo-yah! The kids and I are totally psyched about this one. [Yes, I include myself in with them... Pixar has a 100% success record for making good movies, even though I thought I was going to hate Finding Nemo.]

What an "Incredible" movie. As above posters have noted, I was quite surprised that some of the story lines made it passed the Hollywood PC censors. I guess the fact the Pixar has made them buckets of money must have made a difference.

Apart from the storyline, I have to say the animation was "Incredible" also. The nightime scenes on the island are some of the best I've ever seen.

I feel like the odd one out here.

I saw the movie Friday night.....animation, character artist effect, plot, etc. were exceedingly good!!!

But I don't consider it a 'whole family picture'....

...maybe I'm a bit sensitive, but I think it too intense and extreme for say....6 and under, or even 7, 8, depending on the maturity of your child.

At one point, the mom warns her 2 kids to be careful (while she runs to find dad).....as there are people out there who will kill you.

I also noticed several times, the dialogue included Oh my G-d"....

I've never heard this in a children's type movie before.

As an adult, I thought it well made enough.....would not recommend it to just anyone, animated or not.

Haven't seen this movie, but Super-man 2 is the best superhero movie I've ever seen, it beats them all, hands down.

It's not gloomy. It's pretty realistic, like Peter's aunt having financial troubles, and Peter Parker himself struggling to make ends meet. Then you got his love interest that he can't have because her life would be in danger.

This movie was made perfect by two scenes in the movie, and below are spoilers for anyone who hasn't seen it yet and want to avoid spoilers.

I thought the train scene where Peter Parker takes of his mask in front of all those people he is trying to rescue was pretty powerful. The people don't make a big deal out of seeing him without his mask. They appreciate he saved
their lives and are grateful he is back.

The other scene is the ending, where his love interest asks him to trust her about making her own choices about the risks they might face if they are together. She frees him to be happy, she doesn't forget who Spider-man is at the end of the film, unlike Superman 2, and we see Spider-man swinging through the city shouting with joy because everything is going his way for once.

I just object to this article, it makes the second Spider-man movie out to be less then the best film of its kind to come out in a long time.

Wife and I saw this movie last night, we both agree it was great! Far from being a satire of super-heroes (as I've seen one reviewer call it) it was played completely straight. Some of the things I noticed which were so different from most "family" movies nowadays...

The kids were kids and the adults were adults. Dad wasn't an idiot, and Mom wasn't an emasculating, uhm, witch. The kids, when first faced with danger, didn't become instant heroes; they freaked out, and had to learn how to best use their powers. (The scene where Dash is running away from the bad guys, looks down and realizes he's running across the water's surface, and nearly giggles in delight, was great!) And through it all, no matter how much they fought or argued with each other, it was very clear they were a family who loved one another. Very refreshing!

A great movie, I highly recommend it!

The only complaint I have is the short about the sheep that was played prior to the movie. STUPID !!!

Even the original Pixar short about the lamps (Toy Story short titled "Luxor" IIRC) was better, not to mention the one of the birds on the telephone wire.

Hubby and I took our 10-year old son last weekend to see the movie. We all loved it. The storyline was great--lots of stuff to interest kids AND adults. The animation was absolutely amazing! You think Pixar can't top themselves, and then they do. Some of the scenes, especially looking out over a long distance--you had to keep reminding yourself it was animation. The little short lady who made their costumes reminded me of my old boss from many years ago--I just lost it when I saw her.

Sounds good to me. There was a liberal movie review saying that it was a great movie except that it put too much emphasis on nature vs. nurture, so the reviewer gave it a B. In other words, it isn't politically correct--which is fine with me.

I don't think Daredevel and Hulk left people wishing for whimsy. Those are very dark heroes, especially Daredevil, some heroes are 4 colors and a simle, some aren't. I like Incredibles, it was really good at being what it was, I liked Daredevil inspite of Ben, it too was really good at being what it was. I hated Hulk because it stank, it wasn't good at being anything.

Where's the spoiler alert? A couple of paragraphs in, I had had half my potential enjoyment robbed, and had to stop reading further. Bozell obviously hates movies (or hates moviegoers), or he would have written in such a way as to skirt around as many particulars as possible, not reveal everything possible in advance. The movie just opened, for crying out loud!
