Mark will be one to watch but I am not sure that '08 will be his year. Knowing Mark, I am also not sure that he would want to run, that he would want to place his family and himself under a microscope of that intensity.

We've recently had another very very viable Presidential type Govenor here in SC in Carol Campbell ... who is now battling Parkinson's and Alzhiemer's.

I could see Mark running in '12 or '16. After all, he is my age now (mid forties), he will only be mid fifties/early sixties by that time and to me a U.S. President should be at least in his fifties for wisdom's sake if nothing else.

It's a real shame about Gov. Campbell. He is one of the top five most impressive politicians I have ever seen.
