NPR is set to air a program this afternoon/evening that appears (based on the Morning Edition teaser) to deal with OpinionJournal's James Taranto's "Roe Effect". Seems Red State women are having more babies than Blue State women and NPR's looking the implications.
Wouldn't it be so fitting of Liberal cynicism to reverse their position on abortion NOT because they value innocent human life but because they view them as a future voting block necessary for the maintenance of power!
If you look at the Roe effect slightly differently, you will see that over 1 million abortions have been occuring every year in the US. From those aborted from 1973 to 1986, there is a deficit of 13 million (in round numbers) persons who could not cast a vote in the 2004 election, because they are not alive.
Taranto's assumption is that more of these 13 million mission voters would have been born to liberal mothers.
missing, not mission
I saw an article on the Roe effect in the June 28 WSJ; I didn't know they had posted other articles on it. I thought it was so good that I commented about it on my own website. In the link below, scroll to where it says: "The Graveyard DOES Vote Democratic."
