Congratulations to a woman of honor and integrity.

Yes, just heard this, too. Strange, heard on the radio (Rush?) this afternoon that she didn't want it and was getting tired of the long hours.
Now, who will replace her?

Good Luck to her. She will probably need it, with all the rats after her.

We know who's really happy about this, Ariel Sharon for several different reasons.

Good to see someone at state who is not allergic to kicking ass if necessary.

I think Condi would be a better Secretary of State then Powell.

I hope that Dr Rice those liberals in State who were left over from the Clinton Administration. If they are civil service employees they should be retired. We need a State Department that agrees with our President.

This will be a real challenge for her. She hasn't had this kind of large-scale administrative experience before. Maybe they can find a good deputy for her.
I suppose it's too much to hope for that State should be cleaned out. Eisenhower couldn't do it. Nixon couldn't do it. Reagan couldn't do it. But it would be nice to get rid of at least a few of the worst offenders, especially among the Arabist faction.

I've always liked the sound of, "Madame Secretary." Maybe she can undo some of the damage that idiot Albright did to the post?

Take that Saudi Arabia, Iran and other moslem countries that have hard time dealing with women. Actually, hey France! Don't mess with her, if you know what is good for you.

Very nice. This will give her a much higher profile and better name recognition; things that are handy to have should her future plans include something other than serving as NFL Commissioner.
