And/or, what's to not say it was 1969, when she would have been 16? Certainly North Korean girls that young are scouted for revolutionary dance troupes and/or other 'services' for the Great and Dear Leaders in P-Town.

Another sad example of the global depression we stupid/red neck voters forced on the worlds losers:
"This followed the death of Koh Young-hee, a dancer who had provided Mr Kim with an heir-apparent to the world's only communist dynasty.
"The loss of this woman was a blow," said a foreign diplomat.
"But (US Democratic candidate) John Kerry's loss in the US election was a harder one. These are now very worried men."

Maybe he'll do like every other Kerry supporter and threaten to leave for Canada.

Whenever I read reports of North Korea and conditions there, it's so surreal that you begin to think no society could ever exist for long under such a regime. And yet, the leadership seems to be so isolationist that they have not even considered changing their system. It's like Stalinist Russia during the darkest days of the purges, that just keeps getting worse and going on and on and on.

Well, Red China went through these kinds of horrors with the Great Leap Forward and Greap Proletarian Cultural Revolution and 100 Flowers Campaign. KJI's regime is really nothing more than the sheer terror the Chinese experienced during those dark days with Mao's "experiments". The pragmatists eventually got ahold. Let's see what the North Koreans do. More particularly, let's see what China does (or it's agents more specifically), in the case of Mr. Kim.

Bush told China to clean up NK or we will. China called it bluster and hoped Kerry would win. After winning, perhaps Bush made it plain once again, that is the choice they face. Nobody doubts anymore than the man means what he says. So, perhaps China has told NK generals Kim is a liability, and they are taking charge there. All seems plausible anyway, and would be an excellent development. Obviously we don't yet know what is really happening.
