McCULLOUGH: The Dangerous Seed of CHUCKY Schumer (helping Hillary, Corzine, and Reid)

WHAT HORRORS AWAIT: Senator Chuck Schumer has been tapped by incoming Minority leader Harry Reid for a couple of important posts - and gained a powerful additional seat in exchange.

The only catch for Senator Chucky is having to give up his aspirations of running for Governor.

What does he gain/keep?

His seat on the ever controversial judiciary committee.
His seat on the banking committee.
A NEW seat on the very powerful finance committee.
And becomes the new head of the Democratic Senate Campaign Committee...

Note that he is replacing the rather failed efforts of New Jersey Senator John Corzine...

What does it all mean?

Schumer won't be able to challenge NY Attorney General Eliot Spitzer to run for NY Governor. Spitzer endured some infamy this last year for his rather embarrassing inability to find a definition of "marriage" in the New York Constitution - but was finally forced to admit that "groom" and "bride" meant man and wife...

Schumer will become a key cog for whatever obstruction the Dems will still plan to execute. It is fairly obvious that they have lost so much momentum coming out of the election and especially suffering the loss of Tom Daschle. If the new Reid team intends to make hay on judicial nominees - he leaves Schumer in place but has expanded that reach to money issues with finance placement. Schumer is pretty far left and will be expected to play a typical northeastern liberal's role on all committees he serves on. The Dems will need the regionally safe liberals to wage the wars that "Red State" Senators can't - and Reid definitely falls into that category.

Lastly - it means Corzine can now spend the next fifteen months buying himself the most powerful Governor's office in the country - New Jersey. With an absence of any Lt. Governor's office and with the centralized power to make uncontested appointments as head to every cabinet position - there is no more powerful Governor's office in the nation.

Also look for Schumer's move to the left to also being to relieve pressure from Hillary on domestic/social issues. In desperate need of not being labeled "New York's Liberal Senator", Hillary desperately wants to begin her make-over of appearing more centrist as she begins her run up.

So - Chucky helps his friends, gets Corzine the Governorship, helps run interference for Hillary towards the Presidency, begins to occupy a seat on the powerful finance committee, can still obstruct on judiciary, and gets to be an unrepentant liberal without consequence from a blue state.

Basically its a dream job where people owe him favors going in and he will save them up for a rainy day.

This is good news for Republicans. What the Dems don't seem to understand is that when these NE liberal nincompoops
play their games they end up costing the rest of their collegues votes on election day. Schumer is so far left that he can't help but assist the Republicans in getting to that all important 60 seat Senate majority.

When Schumer doesn't have to worry about getting re-elected at home, he can spend all his time doling out favors and strengthening his team.

We need to keep a watchful eye out for what this UN-American bastard is up to, ESPECIALLY where our 2nd Amendment rights are concerned. Look out for stealthy, under-the-radar, anti-gun amendments attached to appropriations and other types of TOTALLY unrelated (to guns and the 2nd Amendment) bills. I beleive HE, and others of his ilk, like FeinSWINE, are the DOMESTIC ENEMIES that those of us that took the oath of service swore to defend against.

What this REALY means is that New York DSate is soo screwed up..so financially axed out, that Chuckie doesn't want any part of it..who wants to be the Captain on the Titanic..
