NBC said the Marine, who had reportedly been shot in the face himself the previous day...

It's not too hard to beleive he would to what he had to to protect himself & the rest of the squad.

This is nothing John Kerry didn't do and won the Silver Star for it. Politics is definitely involved and the Old Media is trying to run with it.

"It's not too hard to beleive he would to what he had to to protect himself & the rest of the squad."

And the stupid, vicious, worthless piece of slime of the imbed reporter--maybe next time, the Marines can send the reporter over to check out the possibly boobytrapped "body."

It is my understanding that the reporter who witnessed this incident is the same reporter who was with another group of Marines, who went through this building earlier and left wounded to be picked up later. As always, Marines are responsible for their actions, but I do have a question. Why didn't the reporter speak up and tell the Marines what he knew?

I don't want to add to the load our troops need to carry in their packs, but it may be necesary to make Pulitzer Prize medals standard issue. That way, they can hand them out to those very special imbedded reporters, and the reporter will go home with what he wants. Everyone will be happy!

Plausible Alternate Headline: 6 marines and embedded reporter killed by booby-trapped insurgent playing dead.

There is a (very) plus side to this. If the MSM isn't completely hated by the american public, they soon will be for humping this story.

I have not read all of the replys and this may have already been said.

I would, in the future, allow the embeded press the opportunity to clear, and make safe all, "wounded, incapacitated, or surrendering", insurgents.

I bet they don't want that job!

I don't even see why this is any kind of deal whatsoever.

The guy was a terrorist. They've been completely ignoring every 'rule in the book' as a matter of practice FOREVER.

They hide behind civilians, pretend to surrender and then fight, boobytrap corpses, target innocent Iraqi's and everyone else, they behead people for gods sake.

And now we are supposed to believe that if one of these disgusting pukes, skum of the earth get injured while trying to kill our guys, and one of them that was shot in the face a day earlier doesn't want to "trust" that he is just a good guy that somehow ended up in Fallujah after months of telegraphing the attack, after getting 'injuried' in the battle, wants to 'fake play dead'... he is supposed to be afforded all these 'rights'.

Give me a fuggen' break.. I'm with the Marine from Pittsburg, I would have shot the puke terrorits in the head... twice as well... and not even thought twice about it.

The reporter needs to be immediately kicked out. No more press imbedding! Go Marines and take no prisoners there!
