the uncut version allows you to hear a bit more of the dialogue and yes, you see the Marine firing a shot. You also hear a lot of shooting outside nearby. The video also shows a Marine pointing his gun at another Iraq on the floor with his hands out as if he is surrendering. This man is not shot.

The wounded terrorist was not a prisoner, as some articles have reported. The marines were still fighting to control the area and the terrorist had not surrendered.
There is real mischief at work in the media spin on this incident.

I think our military is handling this just right.
1. Pull the Marine in question out of the battle pending investigation. (After all, this guy was reported to have been injured yesterday, and is wound pretty tight right now. Give him some time off to decompress.)
2. Fully investigate the incident. (Again, this is as much a courtesy to our guy -- if the shooting was justified -- as to the dead combatant -- if it was not. If it was justified, our guy needs to get exonerated. If not, he needs to be punished.)
3. Take appropriate disciplinary action. (Based on what I have heard, this seems to fall within the scope of a legal kill. So, appropriate disciplinary action is publicizing that finding and returning the kid to his unit.)
We need to let the military do its thing in this one. My bet is that they will be fairer than either the press or a civilian court.

it was standing policy during WWII in the South Pacific to bayonet all of the bodies when securing an area...for the very same reasons. ZERO historical memory out there!

How did the jihadis get an uncut copy of the video? It was not broadcast on NBC. Did the NBC or their embedded report make it available to them?

Marines of the First Division take a break to gather for a so-called family picture in Fallujah, Iraq, Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2004.
Don't mess with the Marines!

My question: How did jihadis get the uncut version to post on their site? Are they collaborating with Kevin Sites?

Ah, the deluded cleverness of the wicked. That video is cut so that it's size (in Windows Explorer) shows as
666 KB
I guess we know what they're trying to tell us.

The Iraqi chose poorly. Should have ran when he had the chance.

A copy of the video showing a US soldier shooting an injured Iraqi in a Fallujah mosque has been posted by jihadis on the Ansar message board. Good. Maybe it will convince a few of them to stop feigning injuries or death to hurt our guys.
Lets hope they keep it up there when this guy is exonerated & put back into action.
