Hi all...this is my first posting, although I've been here for over a year. My sister just called and her son Justin just told her that he has cancer and is going in for a procedure at 4:00 today (AZ time). He's been keeping it a secret and she just found out about it as well. She's divorced from his father and lives in a different state. Too long of a story...anyway, I would truly appreciate your prayers. She said that it's skin cancer, but not melanoma. Not quite clear what it is, but I guess it's aggressive. They are going to do some sort of internal laser procedure in the spinal region that is very new and somewhat risky. Sorry for the rambling, but would sincerely appreciate prayers for the procedure and healing. Thanks.
god bless..
Praying! Please keep us posted!

If it's not melanoma, the prognosis is very good for most skin cancers. I myself was treated for basal cell carcinoma last year and have had no problems since then.

Thanks for the info Steve. Have you heard of this type of laser treatment before? My sister is pretty freaked out...
Speaking as one who recently underwent surgery for pancreatic cancer, I can attest to the prayers seeing me through the roughest times. I can also say with conviction that cancer isn't the automatic death sentence it was decades ago. With early detection and advanced treatments available these days, more and more people are surviving cancer every day. I'm one of them.
Will pray for him and the rest of your family.
Hopefully what Steve in Seattle says will apply to him!

So good to hear your good news...it sure helps. I forgot to mention my sisters' name - Tammy. I like to pray for people by name, so I thought I'd pass this along. Thanks again Freepers - you're the best.
