Fund for Marine shooter
Vanity | 11/17/2004 | Andyman

Posted on 11/17/2004 8:36:02 AM PST by Andyman

I'm wondering if a FReeper with some experience in the arena would like to set up a fund for the Marine who shot that wounded terrorist in the mosque. I get the feeling he is going to be railroaded and will need some help. Whether it be for lawyer's fees, support for his family, or simply just to show him that there are real Americans who support him, I'd like to contribute to such a fund. Suggestions?

as he may not be getting paid during suspension.

He will be paid until/if a court martial were to fine/demote/discharge him.

What I would like to see is for our President to step forward, call the Main waste-Stream Media out on the carpet, and then say that the Marine is a hero and doing exactly what we want him to do. He is terminating terrorists and helping them to find their paradise!

What have we come to as a country that we even need to have this discussion?

How many WWII veterans would have been prosecuted if the media were there as they are in today's wars?

The military should reserve the right to edit any video taken by an embedded reporter for content and context otherwise they open themselves up to this sort of thing.

It is absolutely sickening what they are doing to this young, brave man.

May hot, speeding lead from an insurgent find the forehead of the reporter who perverted this situation.

At this stage I think our moral and political support is most important.

Basically, we need to persuade the chain of command and the politicians that there will be more trouble if they throw him to the wolves than if they don't. We are the people they need to placate, not the traitors in the MSM and France. Would they rather have the MSM on their neck or us?

They should understand that the MSM will be on their neck anyway. If this blows over, the MSM will just find something else to bash them with. If they get away with it, they'll be encouraged to try it again. Democrats, reporters, and Arabs are like yellow dogs. If you show any fear of them, they'll run in behind you and bite your ankles.

Then at least he should get a fair hearing.

May want to wait and see where the investigation goes first. I'd hate to see the Marine tarred or toasted till more facts are revealed. I'll wait for the JAG/IG's reports first.

Let's set up a fund to reward any marine that shoots a terrorist.

Works for me!

If it works for Saudi Arabia and Sadam Hussein, why not us?

I say about $0.95 per terrorist just about covers what they're worth. Let's make us some millionaires!

It seems like there has been a shift in the media toward letting the facts come out. Thanks is part to the efforts of Scarborough, Hannity, O'Reilly and a lot of military talking heads.

Exactamundo....had the heat not been put to the feet of the chain of command and our politicans

Lt. Col Allen B West would be doing time in Leavenworth right now and his family living without his earned pension

The perfumed princes were all set to persecute him...

The alternative is to level the mosque. Sounds like an excellent idea.

Actually the president should summon the soldier to the White House and PERSONALLY pin a purple heart on his chest for having been wounded in combat and then send him back to Iraq with direct orders to continue to find the terrorists and KILL THEM!

Well, aren't you just a bundle of joy.

This Marine will be represented by men in the military and judged by other men in the military. They understand war as many civilians do not. If the marine who shot feared for his or his buddy's life, he will be set free without being charged.

It is idiotic to feel that President Bush doesn't have sympathy for this Marine but the investigation needs to go on. You don't know how President Bush feels so dry up!

"You forgot to mention that Michael Savage is a whack-job freak."

True enough. But whack-job freaks are usually called whack-job freaks until they are proven right. Then they're called 'observant' and 'wise' by the same people who previously condemned them.

Billy Mitchell said the Japanese were going to attack Pearl Harbor and he was called paranoid and alarmist.

The difference between 'whack-job freak' and 'wise sage' is being right.

Savage, while impolitic in his presentations, tends to be right with regularity. Ann Coulter is similar in that she has a way of stating self-evident truth in a way that makes some people recoil.

Let's set up a fund to reward any Marine who kills an "insurgent" (or possibly an inbedded MSM reporter? After all, they might as well be the same thing? - sort of sarcasm//)
