Toronto School Children Forced to Endure Homosexual Sensitivity Training
LifeSite ^ | November 17, 2004

TORONTO, November 17, 2004 (LifeSiteNews.com) - A Toronto District School Board elementary school, hosting mandatory same-sex sensitivity training for its schoolchildren, is not allowing any exemptions -- even for Muslim children whose parents object to the content of the instruction.

The videos and discussion, called "anti-homophobia education" by the board, are aimed at children, to purportedly eliminate the bullying of children living in families with same-sex parents.

At a meeting attended by 150 parents Tuesday, school board officials said there would be no allowance for parents with children at Market Lane Public School to excuse their kids from the classes. To allow some children to be excused from the classes would be discriminatory against children of same-sex couples, board officials argued. As many as 10 to 15 percent of children attending the school are Muslim.

School board official Patricia Hayes claimed, "religious beliefs do not trump human rights," according to a Toronto Star report.

"They showed a gay lifestyle to the kids without the knowledge of the parents," father of three, Mohamed Yassin said. "They're willing to help gay students with support. Gay people have their rights. I have my rights."

David Crichton, Market Lane principal, said same-sex lifestyles may be portrayed in any grade level, from kindergarten, in stories depicting children with two mothers, for example, rather than a mother and father. Exempting some children from the same-sex sensitivity training "sends a clear message to the students in my school that may have same-sex parents," he claimed.

"They are trying to make it a Muslim issue, but a Christian or Jew would feel the same," Omer Amir, a parent of a 5-year-old at the school, said. "Would they allow me to teach my religion at school? No they would not."

If we want to see what an uncontrolled liberal hell hole is like, we can just look at Canada.

Not anywhere near where I live. We have "schools of choice" for the public schools, so we are able to transfer to another district and there are plenty of christian schools also. Parent have more of a say in the States then they apparently do in Canada.

Yes, that's sad but true. It will happen, and right up until it does there will be well-meaning people who will tell you it could never happen here.

We also have "school of choice" in Canada too. We also have homeschool here too, even though not that big as in the US. Why are you using the media as some kind of a guide to say this is Canada. Do you want me to tell you what I think of the US just by watching CNN? Both Country have problems. So lets stop dissing each other.

Maybe we'd all be better off if the Muslims start a Jihad in Canada.

What a choice - side with the homophilic liberal left-wing western eunuchs on this subject, or join with the nutty Muslims. Well, at least the Muslims apparently like firearms, and don't approve of homosexuality - at least ostensibly.

Homosexual "training" for 5 year old children???

Unfortunately, it's true. And you can thank Kevin Jennings' organization, GLSEN, for leading the way here in the U.S.:

An excerpt from "Targeting Children - Part two: How the homosexual movement uses public schools as instruments of change"

"GLSEN activist and New York kindergarten teacher Jaki Williams said starting in kindergarten is a must, since children at that age are still developing their ideas about the world around them. Even at that age, she said, “the saturation process needs to begin.”

Williams, in fact, is a model teacher when it comes to this “saturation” process. She regularly initiates conversations with her children by reading to them such controversial books as Heather Has Two Mommies, Daddy’s Roommate, and One Dad, Two Dads, Browns Dads, Blue Dads. She also hosts a viewing of the video Both of My Moms’ Names Are Judy: Children of Lesbians and Gays Speak Out, produced by a San Francisco pro-homosexual advocacy group.

According to one writer for The Lambda Report, who infiltrated a 1997 GLSEN workshop, one former teacher admitted that changing the mind of a child required more than a one-time effort. She said she had to expose her children to a constant stream of homosexual words and images, because "It’s really a conditioning process."

I encourage you to get a copy of the book The Death of Right and Wrong: Exposing the Left's Assault on Our Culture and Values by Tammy Bruce, and read Chapter Four: First the Culture, Then the Children: The Agenda of the Radical Gay Elite and Chapter Seven: Destruction of the Innocents: The Left Targets Children.

From Chapter Four:

"The radicals in control of the gay establishment want children in their world of moral decay, lack of self-restraint, and moral relativism. Why? How better to truly belong to the majority (when you're really on the fringe) than by taking possession of the next generation? By targeting children, you can start indoctrinating the next generation with the false construct that gay people deserve special treatment and special laws." (Pg.88)

"I believe this grab for children by the sexually confused adults of the Gay Elite repesents the most serious problem facing our culture today." (Pg.94)

"Between GLSEN, the Happy Penis, Phil, and now Kami, I'd say the Gay Elite have your children as a captive audience. Whether you like it or not, they have appointed themselves your children's moral tutor." (pg.119)

Compare what Tammy Bruce has written with the following articles:

Targeting Children - How the gay movement intends to capture the next generation

Targeting Children - Part two: How the homosexual movement uses public schools as instruments of change

Targeting Children - Part three: Activists encouraging experimentation

Targeting Children - Part four: Access to children: homosexuality and molestation

Back when the word "homophobia" was created didn't it just refer to someone who got really nervous and broke into cold sweats when they were in the same room as an openly gay person?

Yes, it was meant to convey the basest gutteral reaction to somebody "different". I never accepted the primary premise however, that the "fear" was caused by closed minded bigots thinking small thoughts. That "fear" could more precisely be attributed to the natural revulsion felt when someone really came to comprehend what being a homosexual meant. To some people the reaction would be similar to watching another person dine on feces. Maybe some day we will be accused of scatophobia as well.

BTW: Please refrain from using the word "gay". "Homosexual" is judegementally neutral and technically accurate.
