NEW YORK Nov 20, 2004 The NBA suspended four players indefinitely Saturday for their roles in one of the worst-ever brawls in the league, a fight with fans that commissioner David Stern called "shocking, repulsive and inexcusable." Indiana's Ron Artest, Jermaine O'Neal and Stephen Jackson and Detroit's Ben Wallace were suspended, the NBA said Saturday.
Police in Auburn Hills, Mich., were investigating, but did not comment on who might be charged.
Artest and Jackson lunged into the stands and fought with fans in the final minute of their game against the Detroit Pistons on Friday night, and the brawl forced an early end to the Pacers' 97-82 win.

Swift action...good. How about kicking them out permanently and I may consider taking my kids to another NBA game.
I wish to see more of this. A new sport that the fans can participate in: Baiting the players to charge the stands. Shows these NBA a-holes for what they are, hodlums.
Post-election stress syndrome?
And if that wasn't enough, there was a brawl on the football field between Clemson and South Carolina today.
Wallace didn't go into the stands. I don't know if he deserved a suspension.
I guess Artest now has the time to go on that hip-hop promotion tour that he asked time off for earlier in the week (and was turned down by the Pacers).
That was the first thing that came to mind when I saw it on ESPN Sportscenter last night. All that bottled up seething rage has to come out sooner or later.
Suspended three pissers and one pissed-on.
HAHA
Wallace deserves suspension on his stupid hair style...
He did attack Artest on the court while time was out. His suspension will be short once the videos are fully reviewed. However, there is a report that he threw his wristband at Artest after Artest put on the headphones mocking like he was doing an interview.
I think the rage is also about suppressed anger after 9/11.
Are you kidding? His ridiculous shove started this mess, and then he goes on to incite the crowd - which BTW gave nationally televised proof of just how classy they always are.
lol!
Oh no!! I LOVE Ben Wallace - haven't seen any footage of this yet, so have no opinion. Plus my cable TV is out and I'm missing all the rivalry games. Arrgh.
Oh, definately. That plays into alot of what happend last night. What happend last night, goes beyond the shellacking on November 2nd. :)
Kick them all out for good.
Bunch of no good out for themselves only whiners, who should get booted form the NBA.
They were probably disenfranchised when their ho's were late getting to their hotel rooms or something.
Throw them all out, wallace included. No reason for his shove of the idiotcd promoter.
Regards,
Joe
