Wonder what the NBA's definition of indefinitely is...?

They'll be back before the Pacers/Pistons Christmas day slugfest.

The NBA is reaping what it's sown.

"Are you kidding? His ridiculous shove started this mess, and then he goes on to incite the crowd - which BTW gave nationally televised proof of just how classy they always are."

That is exactly right. Wallace incited those drunks and provoked a mob scene. The Pacers had every right to defend themselves.

Wallace took an ugly shot to start this whole thing.

He sure did. The hard foul by Artest was just that, a hard foul. It let them know that the Pacers are willing to get physical with their toughest player at their house. IMO a good foul.

I thought the same thing. But then it got weird.

Why did Artest not got after buskwheat? Instead he attacked fans. Weird.

It looked to me like the fans were closing in and getting belligerent, and then the debris started flying. Artest is a crazy hothead, and people need to remember that some folks will fight back. The fans need to check their crazyness at the door too, or they may get slapped around.

Artest will get 5-10 along with Jackson. Wallace should get the same.

I like the quotations around news. We should all follow your lead.

Ben Wallace's brother died of brain cancer just a few days ago, so his overreaction might've been caused by stress and grief over the death. He should be suspended 2-3 games max for shoving Artest. Artest, on the other hand, ratcheted up the whole incident by going ballistic and into the stands over a little paper cup thrown at him. Artest should be gone 20 games minimum.

Did Jermaine O'Neal go into the stands? I saw he popped that fool who was down on the court. Once the drunken Detroit fans are on the floor, their fair game in my book. As for the Dorks who went into the stands....Ahhhh what does it matter. The Players union will get them off the hook.

From what I saw on ESPN today, it looks like Artest committed a flagrant foul by smacking Wallace in the head.

The same could just be easily said about baseball or hockey.

Assault happens all over this country on a daily basis that never gets proscuted. Think about how many high schoolers each and everyday beat the snot out of each other and nothing happens.

So you take people that have that same menality and you put them in what you think is a "grown up" sport.. and you get the same results.

The fact of the matter is the fans got every bit of what they deserved.

Was is irresponsible? Yes. Was it stupid? Yes. Do they deserve to get suspended? Yes.

Would 3/4th's of American males got up and did the same thing that Artest did having being in an emotionally charged game and just after he got shoved around by another guy? Yes.

So the fact of the matter is you can call everyone in the NBA thugs and this and that and whatever you want.. but the truth of the matter is that is what we expect out of our athletes.. a win it all no matter what it takes attitude and that means getting in a mental position of "live or die" attitude.

YOu don't like it.. don't watch.. but don't act you are better than them.. you aren't.

I'm not against alcohol - I enjoy a drink or two. However, I think that alcohol sales should be banned at games, concerts, etc. I attended a concert a couple of months ago that was almost ruined by a drunk who wouldn't shut up. I go to a concert, game, whatever to enjoy the event itself. I don't need booze to heighten that experience. I know, I know there are those who say why should everyone be punished just because someone can't behave when they drink. But my point is that one or two drunks can ruin the experience for the whole audience.
