nw_arizona_granny found this in one of her searches. I've heard and read this stuff before; but I am shocked anew everytime I see it.

This horrific article should be read by anyone tempted to glorify Muslim culture as "superior" in any way to the West.

Regarding the mutilation of girls: for boys it's bad too (although not as bad, of course, since the boys still have some sexual function left.) Rather than being circumcised in the first week after birth, they're circumcised in their childhood or early adolescence - often *without anesthesia.* That's got to really mar you for life, psychologically.

Interesting that Lloyd de Mause is still around. I used to read the Journal 20 years ago but found it far too wrapped up in Freudian claptrap, sometimes to the point of ludicrous incoherence. But sometimes the "decoding" of cutural icons was interesting (if unprovable).

But in this article his approach is a bit more plausible, given that Arab Muslims are themselves so wrapped-up in bizarre sexual beliefs and practices as advocated by the Koran. For example, the raging homosexual underground that's been related by several long-term Middle East expats (e.g. even going back to the first several pages of T.E. Lawrence's Seven Pillars Of Wisdom). Or the lunatic Saudi imam who more recently wrote a few tracts on the spiritual meaning(s) of menstruation (was it on MEMRI?). Really perverse stuff.

Just more evidence that Islam is the religion of mental illness.

When a boy is born, the family rejoices; when a girl is born, the whole family mourns.

You know I've seen this in many societies, and for the life of me I don't understand it. Last time I checked it took TWO to tango. And contrary to what some in the "gay community" want ONE of those needs to be a women.

"...it might be better for the U.S. to back a U.N.-sponsored Marshall Plan for them—one that could include Community Parenting Centers run by local people who could teach more humane childrearing practices...

No! This would just provide another hated, western-inspired target for the islamists to bomb.

The problem IS islam!

It's very possible that the "..abomination of desolation" in the Bible is refering to islam. Whether it is or not, islam surely fits the description.

All pagan gods are refered to in the Bible as "abominations." Islam's moon god, allah, should be no exception.

Anyone who defends this Islamic middle-eastern culture either hasn't the slightest clue or is a product of it.

All these childrearing practices are very much like those that were routinely inflicted upon children in the medieval West.

What utter horsesh!t.

I don't know that I'm buying this reasoning 100%. The vast majority of kids who are abused don't go on to abuse others although we certainly hear about the ones who do.

I think the social and religious rewards for hatred and terrorism are more than enough to fuel the phenomenon. Remember, most of the terrorists that affect us were born into wealth, were probably raised by nannies and were educated in the West. Their mothers probably read Western fashion magazines, vacationed in the West and wore Western clothing under those sacks.

They have more than enough social rewards to be terrorists without resorting to Freud.

They denied being motivated by the virgins and other enticements supposedly awaiting them in Paradise.

Not true.

A group of the Fallujah "insurgents" were interviewed by a newspaper a few weeks ago, and they all seemed very motivated by the prospect of the 72 versions. In fact that was the only reason they gave for their fighting.

He is forgetting the vile old men of islam.

In polygamous societies, the old powerful men want more than their share of young women, so they have to get rid of the young men by inciting them to murder, hatred, blame others for your own problems, and suicide-for-sex.

"He who washes my body around my genitals should wear gloves so that I am not touched there." --Will of Mohammed Atta

Who you foolin. Some of the hijackers were filmed in bars getting lap dances one or two days before 911. They don't walk the talk.

The girl's sexuality is so hated that when she is five or so the women grab her, pin her down, and chop off her clitoris and often her labia with a razor blade or piece of glass, ignoring her agony and screams for help, because, they say, her clitoris is "dirty," "ugly," "poisonous,"

Where is the outrage from NOW and other radical extremist "women" groups?

If they didn't spend so much time with various anti-conservatives agendas, maybe they could have voiced some concern about this.

It is preposterous to call NOW a "womens organization" as they have proved time and again they do not fight against atrocities such as this, but sing the standard Democratic Party talking-points song of the day.

What does that ugly scag Barbara Streisand and her wacky cronies in Hollyweird have to say about this?
