I love the way you hear them typing away at the keyboard as they move thru a program, never reaching for a mouse.
And since we're on the subject...Hubby loves laughing at the "loud music while examining evidence" segment of the show.
Apparently you missed the end of the show where one of the police detectives, that was mouthing the same complaints about the immigrants as the killers, was helping the store owner rebuild his store. Not everyone sees in black and white. I dont think you are a racist murderer for wanting to control immigration. Hell even Hillary Clinton is trying to get to the right of the Republicans on immigration because she thinks that is the way to win in 2008.
I actually did see the ending, but I interpreted it as the mouthy police detective "repenting" for his anger. I could be wrong on that, but I've seen so many slanted shows equating conservatism with greed, homophobia, racism, etc., that I am probably hypersensitive.
That sappy ending made me think that I was watching a rerun of CHiPs.
I was waiting for Ponch and Jon to smile at the camera as they were doing their good deed for the victim.
The premise is laughly PC. Still you know there are no surprises in Hollywood. The stock villains are always Second Amendment activists and Secure Border advocates. <yawn
Or when Horatio (i cant stand that dill hole) plays a hard a$$ starting his threats looking away from the suspect, hands on hips, and as he says stuff like "we WILL find the murder weapon and it WILL prove you did it" his head is turning towards the suspect trying to be hard.
David Caruso is a terrible actor.
As usual, CSI plays liberty with the truth. The whole show was built around the fact that these guys were too stupid to know that a RPG with a 'four pound' prjectile has a tremendous recoil which resulted in their injured eyes. Why, everyone knows that! </sarcasm>
It was a Kumbaya moment for the ages. I just got my big screen HDTV and the best thing about the CSI shows is the short flyover setting shots. They are incredibly beautiful in widescreen HDTV.
The main problem with this horrid piece of propaganda is that in a world or terrorists that need killing, the worst terrorists are white Americans, and don't you ever forget it!
I don't know what to do in these cases or what I would do. It seems to me that you can tell a story with good guys and bad guys without the agenda. I've thought for a long time that we would assimilate immigrants in this country if we were to cease the efforts to accommodate cultures at tax payers expense (which is impossible all the time anyway). Still, up to last night, I NEVER even noticed that the protagonists in CSI Miami were white or black or Hispanic. It was utterly irrelevant until last night, so the folks that felt it crucial to introduce ethnicity into the mix were the writers and producers.
I guess that's sort of what you are saying on this subject.
I always thought it interesting what players for Vince Lombardi had to say about his take on race. Jerry Kramer said if you asked Lombardi how many whites and blacks he had on his team he would have been unable to tell you. He could count each one by one as he enumerated his roster, but that is the only way he could ever tell. For Lombardi, the concept was utterly irrelevant. There are numerous anecdotes about Ronald Reagan along those same lines.
Then I think it was Willie Davis who said Lombardi had not a single biased bone in his body: He treated us all like dogs.
Thanks for the analysis of my comment. You're right on target. I, too, cannot remember when ethnicity was brought up on this show.
If the people who produce this show keep on with this approach, I'll go back to reading whatever it was that I was reading. Why patronize those who just want to insult you?
There are plenty of plot devices available using terrorism, but the requirement that the terrorists be white mainstream Americans is very annoying.
Geez you make me cry? What requirement? You almost make me feel support for CAIR, after all most terrorists are represented as arabs.
I think we tend to find what we look for.
