MP George Galloway was pelted with eggs at a May Day rally in Merseyside on Monday.
The MP for Glasgow Kelvin was speaking at a workers' festival in Wallasey.
A crowd of about 200 people gathered to hear Mr Galloway deny recent newspaper "smears" about his relationship with Saddam Hussein's regime.
When he began his speech he was sworn at and two people hurled eggs at him.

My first reaction as well... guy should be imprisoned for giving aid and comfort to the enemy in a time of war... or he could run as the Democratic candidate for President in 2008. Either way, his future would be bleak.

Hey George - how does belief in 'hell' and 'hell-fires' jive with your allegiance to Marxism and the tenet that 'religion is the opiate of the masses'? After all, communist doctrine states that there is no God, therefore, the concepts of 'heaven' and 'hell' have no meaning.
Oh, I get it - the dialectic and the fact that anyone who is not a leftist is a victim of 'false conciousness'.
In other words, whatever it takes to advance your agenda: the truth be damned.
Galloway should be banned from entering the US. He is equivalnet to that giant gun maker that the Mossad knocked off - a traitor.
In a time, not too far past, this traitor would have been whipped, drawn and quartered, had his entrails removed and set on fire in front of his eyes, and eventually mercifully beheaded.
The least we should hope for now is that he be confined to shackles.
