Ukraines richest, most powerful people have stayed out of the spotlight during the five days of whats being called the Ukrainian oppositions Orange Revolution.
Thats no surprise, as opposition leader Viktor Yushchenko has been calling them bandits during rallies, and saying they belong in jail after robbing the Ukrainian nation of its riches and suppressing democracy.
Many believe that if the opposition takes control of the government, Ukraines so-called oligarchs who backed the candidacy of Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych - could be tried for stealing state property, election fraud, and other crimes. This group includes Presidential Administration head Viktor Medvedchuk, President Leonid Kuchmas son-in-law Viktor Pinchuk, and Donetsk-based business mogul Rinat Akhmetov, supposedly the nations richest man.

Soros and his pal the late fraudster Robert Maxwell were both tried & convicted for insider trading a few years ago. Maxwell was already dead. They worked together on global scams and supposedly were connected to at least one intelligence agency. Search Google for more.
Maxwell had a multi billion fraud and thousands of UK workers lost their pensions thanks to Maxwell. His sons were later tried in London and got off.
I will never beleive Putin is working with Soros.
$oro$ is working for himself.
Speaking of the questionable leadership in the Ukrainian opposition...
The best way to control the opposition is to lead it ourselves. - V. Lenin (1917).
I think the vast majority of the street-level opposition is genuine, but you can count on Putin's KGB to have either infiltrated and/or created their own opposition leadership long ago. This really shouldn't come as a great shock, this is standard operating procedure for the KGB.

Thanks, Soros strikes me as entirely too stupid to have amassed his billions by himself. Me thinks he had some "help."
The same invisble hand that created Beresovsly, Chodokovsky & Co.
What about Yulia Timoshenko - the "Iron Princess" behind the Yushchenko coup?
Here is a google cache of the relevant link. It describes Soros' partnership with Viktor Pinchuk, Kuchmas son-in-law.
ICTV, owned by Victor Pinchuk, represents one of the country's most popular private television stations. Although it is primarily a commercial TV station with focus on entertainment and sports, the impact of its political coverage should not be underestimated. ICTV has traditionally favored pro-Kuchma political parties and has so far been identified as one of the main pro-government oriented media outlets.--
The press in Ukraine began covering Soros's planned visit in the weeks leading up to it. Comments from media controlled by Viktor Medvechuk ranged from ideological attacks to accusations that Soros was behind the overthrow of Milosevic, Shevardnadze, and that he was now coming to Ukraine with the same intentions. No other media, including that owned by Viktor Pinchuk, participated in the attacks.

George Soros helped Viktor Medvedchuk become a well-known lawyer and public figure. Ukrainian Bar Association headed by Medvedchuk received three grants from George Soros amounting to 87 thousand 677 dollars. IRF supported the initiative of the public organization headed by Medvedchuk as to implementation of the project "Comprehensive Theoretical and Practical Training for Advocates: Applying International Legal Human Rights Standards".

Interfax News Agency, 01.04.04 - U.S. financier George Soros told reporters in Kyiv on Wednesday that he and Ukrainian parliamentarian Viktor Pinchuk are planning to create a joint fund to provide legal assistance to citizens in Ukraine. Speaking about the agreement with Pinchuk, Soros said this is the first major contribution of a local philanthropist toward organizing a legal assistance fund.

Q: "Do you expect any surprises from the presidential election in Ukraine?"
SOROS: "The situation is too intricate, and I can't claim that I grasp it well. What I can say is that in case the constitutional reform succeeds, the presidential election won't matter much. (Even Soros doesn't know who he supports! - T.J.)
--
Q: "Have you formed an opinion of Viktor Yanukovychs government?"
SOROS: "During my visit, I've met Mr. Yanukovych for the first time. Your Prime Minister supported initiatives aimed at strengthening of the law. He claimed that he was aware that there was still enough to be improved. I think his statement was sincere."
"Even Soros doesn't know who he supports!"
Soros is probably still waiting for his marching orders.
George Soros has such an influence. Witness the
U.S. elections, in which he supported Jean Keri .....
